- "Roast ten cans of denta beans. Once that's done, steep them with some boiled whilk milk and a good amount of thalassa seeds."
- ―Torro Sbazzle teaching Gersolik to prepare a beverage containing whilk milk
Whilk milk was a type of milk[1] produced by whilks, a species of long-legged animal. The beverage was potable by humans[2] and could be found on the worlds of Bespin[1] and Juntar.[2]
Whilk milk was a major ingredient in the creation of a drink that was popular on[1] the planet[4] Coruscant. When making the drink, one had to steep ten cans-worth of roasted denta beans in boiled whilk milk.[1]
In 3 ABY,[5] Torro Sbazzle, Executive Chef of[1] the tibanna gas mining colony[6] Cloud City, instructed her sous-chef, Gersolik, to steep some roasted denta beans in boiled whilk milk when preparing a banquet for the Imperial Darth Vader.[1] In 4 ABY,[7] while comparing a young Imperial gunnery officer to a whilk calf, human New Republic Special Forces sergeant major Jom Barell commented that he enjoyed the taste of whilk milk as a child.[2]
Behind the scenes
Whilk milk was first mentioned in Aftermath, a 2015 novel by Chuck Wendig.[2] The beverage was named in the short story "But What Does He Eat?" by S.A. Chakraborty. The story was published in the 2020 anthology From a Certain Point of View: The Empire Strikes Back.[1]
