Sergeant major was a rank in various militaries. This rank was found in the Galactic Empire.[1] Taskmaster Myles Grint held the rank of sergeant major.[4] During a training exercise for Imperial cadets on Sirpar, Bedal Cerroux was temporarily granted this rank.[1] This rank was also used in the New Republic Special Forces. Around the time of the Battle of Endor, Jom Barell held the rank of Sergeant Major.[3]
