The Western Dune Sea was a region of the Dune Sea on Tatooine. During his time as a hermit on Tatooine, Obi-Wan Kenobi lived in a house on the edge of the Western Dune Sea.[1]
In 0 BBY, C-3PO and R2-D2's escape pod landed in the area.[3]
Behind the scenes
In Star Wars: Absolutely Everything You Need to Know, it is stated that the Mos Espa Grand Arena was located on the edge of the Western Dune Sea.[4] However, Ultimate Star Wars clearly indicates that Mos Espa and its outskirts were located at the junction of the Xelric Draw and the Northern Dune Sea.[1]
