One model of blaster pistol was used by the Ohnaka Gang's Weequay pirates and various others individuals and organizations throughout the galaxy during the Clone Wars. Prince Tal Merrik of Kalevala wielded one such pistol during his hijacking of the Coronet, murdering four Galactic Republic Senate Commandos and Captain Andimor Gray.[4] The Hutt Clan Nikto guards also used the pistol as their standard blaster.[1] The pistol could be attached to the heads of astromech droids and be used by them. R5-P8 was heavily modified with a Weequay blaster pistol mounted atop his head,[5] though by the First Order-Resistance War, the blaster had been removed from his head.[6] The Trade Federation even made use of the blaster pistols, with a Neimoidian guard wielding one during the blockade of Pantora.[3]
The blaster could be equipped with gadgets like a scope or a glowrod, as the bounty hunter Shahan Alama put a glowrod on his blaster’s scope.[7]
