- "Vern! Look! She finally likes me. See how she rolled over?"
"Imri, that belly is a trap. Haven't you ever met a cat?" - ―Imri Cantaros and Vernestra Rwoh discuss a vollka's feline nature
Vollka were a species of hunting cats that were native to Mirran Six. They were nearly the size of small humans but not as large as targons, another feline species, and they had green and blue rosette markings. The spiraled horns on their heads produced electricity that could be unleashed in bolts of energy.[1] By 331 BBY,[2] they were nearly extinct due to scientists hunting them in hopes of testing and replicating their rumored ability to fade into invisibility while hunting. A counter claim held that the cats merely moved so fast that they seemed to disappear.[1]
The San Tekka clan discovered and adopted a female vollka named Remy over a century prior to the attack on Tiikae. During that event, Remy's owner was a San Tekka cousin named Jordanna Sparkburn who served as the deputy on Tiikae.[1]

- ↑ The Star Wars Book dates the launch of the Starlight Beacon to 232 years before the events of Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope, which corresponds to 232 BBY in the dating system used by Star Wars: Galactic Atlas. As The High Republic: Light of the Jedi depicts the launch, its events must occur around that year. The High Republic: The Rising Storm takes place nearly a year after Light of the Jedi, so its events must occur around 231 BBY. The High Republic: Out of the Shadows occurs several weeks after The Rising Storm, so its events must also occur around that year. Out of the Shadows
