Description

Vinbeer was a Terionese alcoholic beverage that originated from[1] the Mid Rim[2] planet Teriona. The beverage appeared visually similar to wine while maintaining the smell of beer. It was potable by humans and Twi'leks.[1]

Between around 234 BBY and 232 BBY,[3] the Twi'lek Jedi Master Loden Greatstorm and his human Padawan, Bell Zettifar, visited a tavern in Teronia's Strop's End settlement and bought a round of vinbeer for its patrons. The tavern's bartender obliged and prepared drinks for the Terionese—who were wary of the newcomers—inside.[1]

While Greatstorm enjoyed his first sip of the beverage, Zettifar only discreetly pretended to sip at his mug's contents. The Jedi Master was surprised to learn Galactic Republic credits were not accepted as currency, resulting in him and his Padawan repairing the establishment's roof in payment instead. During their mission on the world, the Jedi pair spent time in the tavern nearly every night after their first visit. Greatstorm often enjoyed vinbeer while at the establishment, paying for it with promises of work or local coins.[1]

Behind the scenes

Vinbeer appeared in a flashback in the short story "All Jedi Walk Their Own Path," written by Charles Soule and published in the 2023 young-adult anthology The High Republic: Tales of Light and Life as a part of the Star Wars: The High Republic multimedia project.[1]
