The Vergesso Asteroids were an asteroid field where the bounty hunter Dengar encountered trouble during the Imperial Era. They shared their name with[1] the Outer Rim[2] asteroid Vergesso[3] which was in the Lybeya system[4] of the Bajic sector.[5]

Dengar's girlfriend, Manaroo, contacted a group of spacers and met them in the outskirts of Mos Entha[1] on the planet Tatooine,[6] where she disembarked from Dengar's JumpMaster 5000 starship, the Punishing One, and implored them to help her rescue Dengar from the Vergesso Asteroids.[1]

Behind the scenes

In the current Star Wars canon, the Vergesso Asteroids were mentioned in the 2020 Fantasy Flight Games Star Wars Roleplaying supplement, Starships and Speeders.[1] The asteroid field originated in the Star Wars Legends Shadows of the Empire novelization, which was written by Steve Perry[7] and released in May 1996.[8] The asteroids were then first depicted in Legends in Shadows of the Empire Sourcebook, a supplement for Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game that was written by Peter Schweighofer and published by West End Games in June 1996.[9]
