The veeka was a type of red-plumed bird that was native to the planet Dathomir. The meat of the species was edible by Dathomirians and Kiffar.[1]

In 19 BBY,[2] while on Dathomir and camping near the modified Lancer-class pursuit craft Banshee, the Dathomirian former Sith Asajj Ventress and the Kiffar Jedi Quinlan Vos ate medium-sized veekas. After Ventress returned from the wilderness with two of the birds for dinner, the two plucked and spitted them, which released an appetizing scent into the air.[1]

Veekas appeared in the 2015 novel Dark Disciple, written by Christie Golden.[1]
