Hello, TheTrooperGuy, and welcome to Wookieepedia! We hope you like the place and choose to join us in building the best Star Wars encyclopedia there is. Here are some things you should know:
New to wikis? Don't worry, we were all new once. Our help pages will get you started, and the Jundland Wastes sandbox can be used for test edits. Don't be afraid to make mistakes—be bold! I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wookieepedian! If you have any questions, you can consult our FAQ, ask a question in the Senate Hall forum, visit our official IRC channel, or leave me a message on my talk page. |
Copy/pasting
Hello, you're not allowed to simply just copy from the Legends page and paste it onto the canon one. It has to be written from scratch, yes you can use the Legends page as a guide for what you need to do, but you can't word for word use it. Thanks --Lewisr (talk) 18:01, April 19, 2020 (UTC)
Cool, thanks for letting me know :) --TheTrooperGuy (talk) 18:15, April 23, 2020 (UTC)
Warning: Uploading
While all good-faith contributions to Wookieepedia are appreciated, we ask that you please refer to Wookieepedia:Images and familiarize yourself with the sourcing and licensing requirements before uploading any more images. The only uploading method supported by Wookieepedia, Special:Upload, will prompt you to enter this information. Continued violation of the image policy or falsification of any information in an upload description are considered vandalism and will likely result in a block. Thank you. --DarthRuiz30 (talk) 04:54, April 30, 2020 (UTC)
Thanks, I appreciate the advice. Won't happen again! --TheTrooperGuy (talk) 18:12, April 30, 2020 (UTC)
Signature
Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wookieepedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You may also click on the signature button
located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! RattsT (talk) 22:34, May 1, 2020 (UTC)
Lol thank you that was a struggle. TheTrooperGuy (talk) 22:36, May 1, 2020 (UTC)
1stID
Hello, no its okay you're not bothering me! All you simply need to do is add {{1stID}} next to the source that first specifically used 'carnivorous plant' --Lewisr (talk) 02:08, May 21, 2020 (UTC)
- Gracias, much appreciated :)--TheTrooperGuy (talk) 02:11, May 21, 2020 (UTC)
Sourcing
Hello. It's not really that big of an issue, but please note that it's considered bad practice to plagiarize from another article, as you have done on the R5-G19, even if Canon and Legends information are identical to each other. I understand you wanted to add canon-exclusive info. to the R5 article, but if that's all you want to do, it's best to write up a simple stub in order to avoid copying from material of a different continuity. Thanks! - - - OOM 224 ༼༽{talk}༼༽ 16:08, June 21, 2020 (UTC)
- Thanks for letting me know and explaining in such a polite way. I'll make sure to avoid that in the future.--TheTrooperGuy (talk) 06:41, June 25, 2020 (UTC)
Jetpack troopers
Hello. I've reverted your edit to All I Want For Life Day because although the armor markings are similar, we have know way of knowing if they are jetpack troopers seeing as they have no jetpacks. Hope that makes sense --JediMasterMacaroni

- Hi, I appreciate you taking the time to personally let me know. That means a lot! I see the logic, but since there are no other clones with similar markings, would it at least be acceptable to mention that they are decorated with markings akin to those of jetpack troopers?--TheTrooperGuy (talk) 12:30, November 19, 2020 (UTC)
- Yes, I agree they resemble the troopers from
LEGO Star Wars (Set: 75280 501st Clone Troopers), that's why I included them in the continuity section. May the Force be with you! --JediMasterMacaroni

Backup links
Thanks for contributing to Wookieepedia! Please note that your edit to Nevarro nummy added an external link without including a backup link. Our Sourcing policy mandates the inclusion of a permanent archival link in all external links. Instructions for doing this can be found on the respective citation template pages. Thanks! - Please go back and use {{SideshowCite}} here with a backup link. UberSoldat93

RC-8028
They there, just wanted to reach out regarding why I reverted your edit to RC-8028. I've been working through this on the Wookieepedia Discord server, but upon research in The Complete Star Wars Encyclopedia I found out that RC-8028 and Two-Eight cannot be considered the same character, as painfully similar as their descriptions are. Once the article is stripped of it's CA status, I'll be splitting the articles. See the Talk:RC-8028 for specific details. —TK-462 (talk) 17:55, 13 December 2020 (UTC)
- Huh, interesting. Well, props to ya for really doing your research, and I appreciate the notice!TheTrooperGuy (talk) 18:29, 13 December 2020 (UTC)
Formatting
Hey there, please note that in accordance with Wookieepedia:Sourcing we write our references using the <ref name=""> format at the beginning of the citation, not <ref> as you did here. Thanks! --Lewisr (talk) 02:35, 18 December 2020 (UTC)
- Ah looks like you fixed this instance, but I've noticed it several times in your edits, so please ensure you're using the correct format --Lewisr (talk) 02:37, 18 December 2020 (UTC)
English spelling
Hey there. Just wanna let you know that Wookieepedia uses American English spelling. So instead of "grey," you wanna type out "gray" instead. Happy editing and cheers! Bonzane10

Notability
Hey there. Please read our notability policy before creating articles. One of the articles that you make Cal Kestis' AT-AT/P is not notable as it was not Cal's other than the fact that he hijacked it for a mission. Bonzane10

TW-D1D and TW-D1M
The two droids were neve specified which is which in the show, hence why it was changed to an image that featured both to avoid any assumption. Additionally, I'm not sure if you are trying to be intimidating by saying "I'm waiting for your answer" at the end there, but others will respond when necessary. Bonzane10

- Hey! I wanna apologize for the confusion there. It seems that there was an error and that the message notification got stacked and attributed to you instead by the system. Once again, sorry for that. Everything should be fixed now. Happy editing and cheers! Bonzane10
