Legends and the new canon are two completely different continuities, as is clearly explained in our Wookieepedia:Canon policy. Please do not continue to add NuCanon content to our Legends articles. Thank you. Cade GalacticRepublicEmblem-Traced-TORkit Calrayn 05:06, October 20, 2014 (UTC)

Canon and Legends

Hi. Hopefully you see this message once you are unblocked. I am one of the few people here who works on Canon pages, so I wanted to take a moment to reply to your edit summaries about how new Canon information should apply to Legends pages. You are indeed correct that past Canon information applies to Legends here on Wookieepedia. Those past Canon stories are Episodes I-VI, The Clone Wars film, and The Clone Wars TV series. However, the April 25th announcement regarding the future of the Expanded Universe made it clear that new Canon and Legends were two separate things.

I understand why you might think that the name Sheev Palpatine applies to the Legends Palpatine page as well, given that the name came from George Lucas and the Legends Palpatine page incorporates Episodes I-VI and The Clone Wars. However, the name Sheev has only appeared in a new Canon source, namely the novel Tarkin. If a new Canon story like Tarkin applied to Legends, then take that line of thinking to its logical conclusion: the new movies apply to Legends. Obviously the new movies will not apply to Legends, because Lucasfilm's Legends de-canonization decision was made specifically to separate the new stories, like Episode VII, from Legends, because they were not going to force Episode VII to follow the hundreds of stories of the Expanded Universe.

Hopefully this helps illustrate why new Canon does not apply to Legends. If you have any questions about this upon your return, please feel free to let me know. Thanks. - Brandon Rhea(talk) 05:35, October 20, 2014 (UTC)
