Hello, Sol Pacificus. I hope everything is all right regarding the discussion we've had on the Human article's talk page. It's true that we're not always aware of our own biases, but I'd like to stress I didn't intend to be offensive in any way. --LelalMekha (talk) 11:30, November 22, 2013 (UTC)
- Oh no really it's fine. :) I wasn't actually offended. When I said "mild discomfort," I meant that exactly. Just a mild sensation of uncertainty. I assure you that I had not the slightest thought that you may have been biased in any way. Quite the contrary, I felt certain that the editor (you) perfectly meant well for the article. I only brought it up because I was aware that in the United States at least, especially due to the history, calling East Asians "yellow" does occasionally have a negative connotation, and I wasn't sure whether it really is a scientific way of description. In any case, I want to stress, myself, that I brought it up out of curiosity rather than sensitivity. I apologize for not having been clearer on the talk page, and once again, I knew you didn't intend to be offensive nor was I offended. ^^ I think you did a great job expanding the article. Sol Pacificus (talk) 12:06, November 22, 2013 (UTC)
- Actually, I'm a French-speaking European. :-) In my culture, the idiom « les jaunes » ("the yellow people") has completely fallen into disuse, while « les blancs » et « les noirs » ("white people" and "black people") are still widely used, although cautiously depending on the context. We now prefer the term « Asiatiques » (asians), but I couln't use it the article for obvious reasons : there's no Asia in Star Wars,;-) (Oh, and many thanks for your compliments too, of course.) --LelalMekha (talk) 12:29, November 22, 2013 (UTC)
Re:Latin
Hey there! Don't worry, your nickname is actually grammatically correct. "Sōl pācificus" is indeed "pacific/peaceable sun"—don't mind those weird accents, they're only there for pronunciation. --LelalMekha (talk) 11:15, January 2, 2014 (UTC)
- Thank you! x] I know it may seem odd that I went with something Latin when I don't really know Latin. I have such a hard time making up usernames that I just decided to try to go with two of my favorite words and make something out of it. Sol Pacificus (talk) 20:22, January 23, 2014 (UTC)
Rumbat
Hi! Regarding the rumbat's biology, I'd say it's safe to assume it was a bat based on its name. That may be debatable, though. I believe the other point is clearer, however. Based on that single quote you provided, we can't say for certain that other travelers ever caught the creatures and ate them, therefore we can only safely state that Brock did it in that particular instance. File types
Just for your reference, regarding the requested deletion of File:DC-17 commando pistol.png, PNG has long been accepted as a valid format for game screenshots, given the tendency of game graphics to be sharply defined and thus falling under the image policy's recommendation for images with "sharp color transitions." This also covers images with background transparency as found on many promotional sites. -- Darth Culator (Talk) 13:50, January 22, 2017 (UTC)
- Thanks for letting me know. I read on the Wookieepedia:Images page that JPEG was to be used for game screenshots, and I remember that a few years ago, I encountered a user who got in serious trouble with an admin for uploading images of game screenshots in PNG. I posted a message regarding my thoughts on the POV issues with the Mace Windu/Legends article, as well as all articles in general, on the corresponding talk page per your request. As you said, that article is definitely skewed against him. But given that it is a Legends/non-canon article, I didn't want to go through the effort of repairing it, especially since I spent a lot of time fixing the POV issues in Windu's canonical article. So I felt that a warning template was sufficient enough, at least until someone finds the time to remove the POV statements in that article. JRT2010 (talk) 09:43, March 23, 2017 (UTC)
GANs
Hey there! Just wanted to remind that you have until Wednesday to address the objections on the Ice and the Guts and Glory GANs. Cheers, Imperators II(Talk) 06:25, May 21, 2017 (UTC)
- If you don't mind, could you send a reminder over to ExileJedi about Guts and Glory as well, given that it has been many months since he last responded to me addressing his points? Sol PacificusFirestorm 14:32, May 21, 2017 (UTC)

weapon DESCRIPTION vs DESIGN
So i'm not supposed to edit http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Forum:SH:Description_vs._Design_in_weapons_%26_equipment_articles?t=20170905210435 anymore? Without checking any weapons articles, i'm guessing "Design" implies either the look of the weapon and/or the behind-the-scenes process of coming up with the weapon, as opposed to "Description" which more clearly omits behind-the-scenes stuff and includes stuff like what the weapon does, how it works, how far it works (proton torpedo has a greater range than a lightsaber, for example), etc. 71.121.143.76 09:07, October 10, 2017 (UTC)
VisualEditor = bad
Hello. In response to the trouble you're having signing your user signature on the Mr/Miss Star Wars votes, you're experiencing this because you're using Wikia's VisualEditor skin, which is full of such technical nightmares. We strongly recommend going into your Preferences and changing your editing skin to "Source editor." Life will be much better for you that way. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 02:27, December 29, 2019 (UTC)
- Oh thank you very much for letting me know! I hadn't realized that that could be changed. Sol PacificusFirestorm 04:37, December 29, 2019 (UTC)
Tracking down the LucasArts webpage for DC-17 image
Hello there, I was wondering if you might still have the source files saved for the DC-17 image you isolated and uploaded back in 2017? I'm trying to access the original website to see what the image looked like in context.
Link to the DC-17 image page: https://starwars.fandom.com/wiki/File:DC-17_commando_pistol.png Archive of the original LucasArts webpage that you cited: https://web.archive.org/web/20050305072649/http://www.lucasarts.com/games/swbattlefront/index.html
Thank you,
