The Father
Hi there Jonathan! Hey, I just wanted to know if you could check this out. I'm working to make it an FA, and since I heard that you specialize in doing copy-edits, I thought it'd be a good idea to ask for your help. Just, I want to let you know that I will not be able to address your objections/suggestions in some time. Hope you can help me, and have a nice day!! Plagueis327 22:48, January 22, 2012 (UTC)
- I'll be happy to take a look at it when I can, probably tomorrow as I may not get to it tonight. Master Jonathan Holocomm Monday, January 23, 2012, 02:21 UTC
- Ok, thx!!!!!!!!!!!! :D Plagueis327 16:37, January 23, 2012 (UTC)
- Alright, I just began to take a look at it, but there are several major problems that are preventing me from proceeding further at this time:
The article has significant problems with overlinking. Per Wookieepedia:Manual_of_Style#Linking, each article should be linked only once in each of the infobox, intro, and article, upon first mention in each. I removed a dozen duplicate links in the intro alone; the rest of the article has the same problem. Please note that the plural of "Jedi" is "Jedi", not "Jedis".- "Upon discovering this, the Father decided that if there was going to be balance, Anakin needed to forget what he saw, and then proceeded to take him back to his monastery" Say what? Who proceeded to take who back to whose monastery? And if Anakin needed to forget it, what did the Father do about it? (Simply linking to memory rub doesn't cut it, as links don't show up on the printable version). Also, please read through the article one more time to look for any other sentences that don't quite make sense (there may or may not be any, but I want you to look anyway).
Watch your run-on sentences. I already broke up one in the intro, and there's a couple more further down that should be broken up as well.- With the Jedi, you use a mix of first and last names, which is incorrect, as first names alone should never be used except where multiple characters have the same last name, which isn't the case here.
- I'm willing to help you out here, but my job is to help polish the article up, not to correct every major problem wrong with it, which is your job. Let me know when you've cleaned this stuff up and I'll take another look at it. Master Jonathan (Training Room) Monday, January 23, 2012, 18:35 UTC
- Alright, I just began to take a look at it, but there are several major problems that are preventing me from proceeding further at this time:
- Ok, I've resolved the "Jedis" typo. And I'll keep addressing your objections. Plagueis327 00:08, January 24, 2012 (UTC)
- I have another question. Should I then name the three Jedi by their whole names every time I mention them? Like Anakin Skywalker instead of Anakin or Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi instead of Kenobi or Obi-Wan and Ahsoka Tano instead of Tano? Plagueis327 00:23, January 24, 2012 (UTC)
- Ok, I've resolved the "Jedis" typo. And I'll keep addressing your objections. Plagueis327 00:08, January 24, 2012 (UTC)
- Generally, full name should be used on first mention in each of the intro and body, and last name only thereafter. Also, please note that you should never strike another person's objection, as you did above; it is up to that person to strike it themselves if they feel it is properly addressed. This goes for the actual nomination pages too (don't worry, it's a common newbie error). On another note, why did you do this? Master Jon (Council Chambers) Tuesday, January 24, 2012, 01:27 UTC
- Thought I should re-write the "Personality and Traits" section :P Plagueis327 02:24, January 25, 2012 (UTC)
- OK, rewriting it is fine, but what I saw was the complete removal of several paragraphs that had a lot of valid information in it. Make sure you integrate that information back in when you rewrite it. Master Jon Training Room Wednesday, January 25, 2012, 02:32 UTC
- Okay, I've followed your advice much as I could. Please check the article again and tell me if I need to do something else. Anyway, thank you for your assistance, it was quite helpful!!!!!!!! :) Plagueis327 20:14, February 6, 2012 (UTC)
- I'm not seeing any improvement here. There are still significant overlinking issues in the body of the article; I count five links to Mortis Monastery and six to The galaxy. Many other articles are linked way too many times. Furthermore, no attempt was made to address the third or final objections above; in fact, you did the opposite on the last one, changing several last names to first names. I will look at the article again when an actual attempt is made to address my objections. —MJ— Council Chambers Tuesday, February 7, 2012, 05:33 UTC
- Okay, I'll work harder!! :D Plagueis327 14:41, February 7, 2012 (UTC)
- Well, I've erased many of those overlinking issues, and I'll get to work with the names later :P Plagueis327 15:10, February 7, 2012 (UTC)
- Okay, I'll work harder!! :D Plagueis327 14:41, February 7, 2012 (UTC)
- Now it's underlinked. Articles linked in the intro (prior to the first ==header==) should be linked again in the body (after the first ==header==). Master Jonathan War Room Wednesday, February 8, 2012, 00:44 UTC
- I think it is done. Plagueis327 03:33, February 8, 2012 (UTC)
- OK, linking looks fine now. Take care of the other two objections and I'll take another shot at copy-editing this thing. —MJ— Training Room Wednesday, February 8, 2012, 04:56 UTC
- Thank you for the help, I'll keep working!!!!!!! :D Plagueis327 15:22, February 8, 2012 (UTC)

Timeline videos
My apologies on removing the italics from the Timeline articles, hope it wasn't too much work to fix them. However, I would like to know why some publisher summaries are in italics and others are not, and also why some of the Timeline's have a Publisher's Summary heading while others have Plot or Synopsis headings.--This is my custom signature 01:56, February 15, 2012 (UTC)
- Re-adding the italics was as simple as hitting the "undo" button on your edits, so no problem there. :) As for your question, publisher's summaries should always be in italics, while plot summaries written in our own words should not. Only the first twelve Timeline videos have actually been released, so we only have full publisher's summaries for those twelve. However, I now see that the "plots" on the other seven were lifted directly from their brief descriptions on the Timeline page, so I will be changing those to italicized publisher's summaries in a few minutes. —MJ— War Room Wednesday, February 15, 2012, 02:03 UTC

Yes, it's me again. Could you give Taggart (Senate Guard) a copy-edit? By the way, is the current quote correct? (I'm unsure about the [sic!].) Clone Commander Lee Talk 13:39, February 26, 2012 (UTC)
- Done. I removed the [sic], since that's only for unintentional spelling and grammar errors. Calling a female officer "sir" is not a grammar error, but rather a matter of decorum, so it doesn't get a [sic]. Let me know if you have any other questions. —MJ— Comlink Sunday, February 26, 2012, 18:39 UTC

Thanks! :D After missing the deadline two years ago, I didn't want us to miss out on it again this year. As for Wedge, well, it would have been a crying shame if that nom went down in flames after all that work, and I didn't want to see that happen, especially after all the work I put into my own review of the article. :) —MJ— Training Room Tuesday, February 28, 2012, 17:57 UTC

Hi, I was wondering if you could do a brief copyedit of Draa that's currently on my workbench before I move him to GAN. Lee's already done a thorough one so there should not be to much. Thanks, 501st Dogma

- Done. Two notes:
- You have a lot of links to redirects, which is a no-no. I recommend you go to the Gadgets section of your preferences and select the second item on the list ("Highlight all redirect links orange") to aid you in fixing them.

- In the BTS, you discuss the attribution of the "Buckle your belts" line. I'm not sure you have it right; after looking at the guide for myself, I think they're trying to say that Draa was given the line in the original script and implying that it was changed before or during production. I would suggest you ask someone else, such as our resident TCW expert CC7567, about this.
- CC7567 seems to think it's an error on the guide part. I'll check the subtitles on the DVD version to see if there is any other info there. 501st Dogma

Just dropping in to say thanks for catching my revert mistake on Oric, and also for working out the whole Jaina Solo's name thing (I haven't finished Apocalypse yet myself). Cheers, Jonjedigrandmaster (Talk) 22:03, March 20, 2012 (UTC)

Glad to see you "caught on" and were more careful from that point on. :) —MJ— Holocomm Tuesday, March 20, 2012, 22:11 UTC

(Comlink) 00:00, April 4, 2012 (UTC)
- Essentially, yes. The first mention at the very beginning of the intro and body should give full name (as it already does), but thereafter she should be referred to by last name. First name only is considered informal when the last name is known. —MJ— Council Chambers Wednesday, April 4, 2012, 00:04 UTC

Aftermath: reported problem with the spamfilter
Greetings good man, my name is Nicophorus and I'd like to thank you for your quick help with my report regarding the spamfilter. Everything went well - the link was added to the white list by an administrator and I was able to do the editing. I'll have to delete the report now, am I right, Master Jonathan? Thank you again and may the Force be with us all Nicophorus 20:36, April 4, 2012 (UTC)
- Actually, leave the report in place. All comments on talk, forum, and other discussion places are public record and are not to be removed without archiving. Archiving of community process pages like the report page are generally handled by admins when the page begins to get a bit on the long side. There's no harm in leaving it there. Thanks for the report, though; the whitelist is brand new, still in development, and nowhere near comprehensive, so reports like yours help build it. :) —MJ— Comlink Thursday, April 5, 2012, 00:58 UTC
Re: CVI
Actually, that would be a humongous help. Currently, I'm trying to find people who are carpooling on TFN (started a thread), and since I had just received food stamps, that will also help me save some money. If I can save $100 each month, I will have plenty to travel and a bit to spend, so that's my goal currently. Here's hoping it happens! Trak Nar Ramble on 03:53, April 13, 2012 (UTC)

- "In 8.5 ABY, < ref name="Atlas">The Essential Atlas</ref>shortly after Zsinj had been defeated, Antilles, along with Airen Cracken and Ral'Rai Muvunc, produced the plan to conquer the vital shipyard of Kuat's Kuat Drive Yards, protected by the strong Kuati Sector Forces. Republic aligned astromechs inserted into KDY's droid pool loaded a coded virus onto the Kuati Event Horizon and four other Stardestroyer's networks. With the upload complete, the RZ-1 A-wing composed Surprise Squadron was signaled to, and jumped to the Kuat system. Surprise Squadron's ion torpedoes soon took down the Luminous's and three other warship's systems, while the virus encrypted on the infected warships caused them to lock down their hangars and turn their guns on the remaining Kuati warships. When Muvunc hailed the Kuati officials and revealed that the New Republic controlled 34 percent of KDY via shares, the officials were forced to secede Kuat from the Empire as they faced an enemy who could take out nine warships from their defense fleet in a matter of minutes. In this way Antilles and the others pulled off a major victory without the death of a single pilot.< ref name="War">The Essential Guide to Warfare</ref>"
- This is all the content of the fourth battle of Kuat involing Wedge. You can trim it down if you want as there is nothing relating to Wedge other than him planning it out. The links will have to be looked at also as I am not sure if you already have them linked the entire Wedge article. Also, I've deliberately added a space between < and the rest of the reference so as it does not mess up your talk page with the annoying red warning. The Insiders
Hey, MJ. I'm wondering if I can ask you a favour. Apparently, Noa Briqualon is mentioned in Star Wars Insider 89's "Ask Lobot/Ask the Master" feature. Is there any chance you could let me know what it says? Unfortunately, I'm not sure where in the issue the column is. I doubt if it'll be anything more than a quick mention, though. Wilford Brimley as the grumpy space hermit Noa in 1985's made-for-TV Ewok Adventure: Battle for Endor I recently purchased the Ewok Adventures on DVD for my kids. I was a bit shocked to hear a vulgar word come from an actor's mouth. It happened at 1:15:40 in Battle for Endor. Even though Wilford Brimley says it under his breath, you can still hear it quite clearly. I even used the subtitles to try to understand what he was trying to say. I don't think it was even close to what was heard on the audio. My kids, as well as myself, are Star Wars fanatics, and it was hard to explain this one. After seeing/hearing this, I wonder: Are all the DVD copies out there like mine, or do I have the only one? Noa (played by Brimley) is desperately trying to get his starship to power up. The dialogue said in that scene is, "Aw, come on," just as the subtitles suggest. All versions of the DVD have this line, as does the original VHS copy—because there's nothing wrong with it, though if you convince yourself you hear something, you end up hearing it. It's kind of like all the folks out there who swear Luke yells, "Carrie!" when he returns from destroying the Death Star in A New Hope. | |

Wegdge and Warfare, again....
Hi, just thought I let you know I found some more new Wedge material, but not much. Here's the excerpt (its the intro to a part on Baron Fel, remebered by Wedge).
"In this excerpt of Voren Na'al's Oral History of the New Republic, recorded shortly before the Liberation of Coruscant, Wedge Antilles remebers Soontir Fell, then thought to be dead. In reality, Fel had joined Trawns's Empire of the Hand." pg.136
The section is basicaly how Wedge knew Fel, though it should be in the article that Vorun recorded Wedge's thoughts on Fel for his works. You will have to probally just make a sentence out of the info above. Hope that helps, 501st dogma(talk) 23:52, May 8, 2012 (UTC)
- Thanks. Does it give an in-universe date as to when his thoughts were recorded? —MJ— Comlink Tuesday, May 8, 2012, 23:55 UTC
- OK, thanks. I'll have to read through the article and figure out where it would best be placed. I still can't get it through the library; there's two copies listed in the interlibrary loan system now, but they're both out, and I can't put a request on something through that system unless it's just sitting on the shelf waiting to be checked out, meaning I have to wait for all local requests to be fulfilled first. —MJ— Jedi Council Chambers Wednesday, May 9, 2012, 02:32 UTC

Second Pius Dea Crusade
Regarding the TC, you do realize that the Second Pius Dea Crusade is not explicitly mentioned in the EGW either? You added your support to its CAnom, and I was just wondering whether that one should be included in the TC. Cade Calrayn 18:23, May 11, 2012 (UTC)
- The second has unique information that is about it specifically (it targeted the Hutts), and is therefore sufficiently notable. The others that I nominated don't appear to have any such unique info. —MJ— War Room Friday, May 11, 2012, 23:03 UTC
Tirs Maldane
Could you give Tirs Maladane a copyedit? I am not quite sure how to refer to him other than "he" with his gender not revealed. Thanks, 501st dogma(talk) 00:08, May 15, 2012 (UTC)
- Copy-edit done. If a character's gender is not known, then you have to find other ways of referring to that character. You cannot use "he or "she" unless the character is known to be that gender, and the singular they (more specifically in this case, epicene they) is heavily debated as to its acceptability, with the Chicago Manual of Style listing it as inappropriate for formal writing (e.g. an encyclopedia), so I would recommend avoiding it as well. You will simply have to find other methods of referring to him, such as his rank/job ("the lieutenant gunner"), his homeworld ("the Tatooine native"), etc. It's difficult to dance around a lack of gender, but that's what you have to do here. Let me know if you have any other questions. —MJ— Training Room Tuesday, May 15, 2012, 02:20 UTC

- OK, done. One error that I've seen in several of your articles: "openfire" and "openfired" are not words. They should be "open fire" (notice the space) and "opened fire", respectively. Let me know if you have any other questions. —MJ— War Room Thursday, May 17, 2012, 14:57 UTC
- Just because he doesn't talk doesn't mean you can't get quotes. Does anyone else talk about him? Give him orders? Does he reflect on the mission in another source? Anything related to both him and the mission in question, regardless of the speaker or source, counts. As for P&T/Equipment, they look OK as is to me, but I'm not an expert in that field, and they would probably be fine either way given the current size of those sections relative to the overall article. I would recommend putting it the way you think is best and see if anybody objects to it in the FAN process. —MJ— Holocomm Friday, May 18, 2012, 01:24 UTC
CT-1226
Sorry to bother you yet again, but could you copyedit CT-1226? Thanks again, 501st dogma(talk) 12:29, May 21, 2012 (UTC)
- Done. In the biography quote, please check whether "red-armoured" is spelled exactly as it is in the source. Almost all Star Wars sources use the American spelling of "armored". If your copy says "armoured" and you're not in the U.S., please check with someone who has the book and obtained it in the U.S. to see whether theirs spells it the same. If American copies use the American spelling, then that is what must be used in the quote. Let me know if you have any other questions. —MJ— Comlink Monday, May 21, 2012, 16:33 UTC

Drutch advise
I've been working on Isila Drutch recently, and I was wondering something. I've narrowed down her date of birth to prior to 10 BBY, and her memoirs are dated 33 ABY.
