Biography
Taggart was an individual who lived during the waning years of the Galactic Republic. By the time of the Clone Wars, Taggart served in the Republic's Senate Guard and held the rank of captain.[1] In 20 BBY,[2] Duchess Satine Kryze of Mandalore hosted a peace conference on her planet to find a peaceful solution that would end the war between the Republic and the Confederacy of Independent Systems. Taggart, along with several Senate Guards and Jedi Padawan Ahsoka Tano flew to Mandalore, to protect the Republic delegation, consisting of Senators Padmé Amidala, Mon Mothma and Bail Organa. During the conference in[1] the New Mandalorian capital city, Sundari,[3] Taggart and their troops were assigned to stand guard at Sundari shipping docks, protecting the Phoenix; the Republic delegation's[1] GX1 Short Hauler,[4] while the conference transpired in the Sundari Royal Palace.[1]

During the peace talks, Tano, along with the former Separatist, Lux Bonteri, arrived at where Taggart and their troops were standing guard. Tano had just rescued Bonteri from a potential execution by the Separatists for interrupting the peace conference, and the two adolescents were subsequently chased by Separatist commando droids. After Tano informed Taggart that the commando droids were pursuing her and Bonteri, the captain and their troops responded by giving the two teenagers cover fire to safely reach the Phoenix, which directed the attention of the battle droids. Multiple casualties were suffered by both opponents in the resulting lightfight.[1]
Personality and traits
Taggart served in the Senate Guard,[1] a unit that was trained in the protection of Republic officials.[5] While Lux Bonteri and Ahsoka Tano were pursued by Separatist commando droids during the peace conference on Mandalore, Taggart helped the adolescents escape the planet and their forces repelled the opposing commando droids.[1]
Equipment
Taggart wore blue Senate Guard armor, a blue helmet, which had a dark visor and a black plume. The captain was also armed with a DC-15A blaster rifle.[1]
