Guides

If you are interested in creating articles, you may want to look at our Manuel of Style and our Layout Guide. These will give you an idea of what an article should look like. If you have any questions, feel free to ask. Supreme Emperor (talk) 04:53, February 6, 2015 (UTC)

Re: Canon articles

Please note that not everything from a Legends article is automatically canon—see WP:CANON for an extensive guide to what is canon and what is not. I'd also recommend taking Supreme's advice above, regarding article layout; it's important to become familiar with what the site's standards and expectations are regarding layout and quality. Feel free to ask me or any other experienced users if you have any more questions. CC7567 (talk) 01:25, February 10, 2015 (UTC)

Appearances, quotes, and more

Hi Jedi Knight Fett. From here on out, please be sure to add things like appearances and quotes exactly as they are on others pages. There is already a specific template for listing TCW episodes in the appearances section, and for things like (First Appearance) all you have to do is {{1st}}. There is a template for quotes as well. Also, please be sure to put {{Eras}} at the top of each page you create. If you don't understand exactly how any of these look/work, just go to any other canon page and use that as your basis. Cevan (talk) 00:55, February 26, 2015 (UTC)

  • You completely ignored my comment. Please, make sure you do all of these things. Cevan (talk) 23:59, February 27, 2015 (UTC)

They are I don't no what your talking about they look the same to me so I will try to do it your way point me to an article with both thanks. Jedi Knight FettJedi Knight Fett (talk)

  • They look the same because I fixed them. Here is a link to one of your previous page creations where you did not do this. Cevan (talk) 16:37, February 28, 2015 (UTC)

So is my most recent page ok or no its Ringo/Canon. Jedi Knight Fett (talk) 16:46, February 28, 2015 (UTC)

  • That's fine, but just remembers to put {{Eras}} at the very top of the page. Cevan (talk) 16:55, February 28, 2015 (UTC)

Thanks How do you make Categories? Jedi Knight Fett (talk)

Warning

Please stop attempting to create canon articles without actually using the source text of the article, as your attempts to use the VisualEditor have resulted in serious formatting issues, and without actually checking the sources for validation of any names. Almost none of the clone troopers you've tried to create articles for have canon numerical designations, and as such those designations shouldn't be used. Cade GalacticRepublicEmblem-Traced-TORkit Calrayn 00:37, February 27, 2015 (UTC)

Sorry I will remember that Jedi Knight FettJedi Knight Fett (talk)

  • I'm not quite sure what you're doing, but CC-1993 is the Legends article, not the canon article. Please stop changing links on that article. Cade GalacticRepublicEmblem-Traced-TORkit Calrayn 02:48, February 27, 2015 (UTC)

Sorry again also I could not help but realize that the Canon Article is the same word for word as legends. Jedi Knight FettJedi Knight Fett (talk)

  • No, CC-1993 is the canon article. There was an error in the tabs. Cade GalacticRepublicEmblem-Traced-TORkit Calrayn 02:59, February 27, 2015 (UTC)
    • As I said before, please stop using the VisualEditor to create articles; it's causing serious formatting errors with your articles, and you may be blocked if you continue to do so. Cade GalacticRepublicEmblem-Traced-TORkit Calrayn 23:43, February 27, 2015 (UTC)

I think I figured it out tell me if I am doing it wrong again thanks. Jedi Knight FettJedi Knight Fett (talk)

Canon articles again

Again, when creating canon articles, any that you're creating, even if it's just a stub, you need to change all Legends links to canon, including those in the infobox. Also, the Eras tag should generally not include anything but "Eras", publishing eras like "Imp" aren't used in canon articles, and a newly created canon article certainly isn't a "former Good article." ProfessorTofty (talk) 04:48, February 28, 2015 (UTC)

Thanks Since Cade was saying that I need to fix how I edit I sorta failed any tips on editing Jedi Knight Fett (talk)

Warning

When creating Canon articles, please do not copy content from the Legends article. All new articles need to be written from scratch. Supreme Emperor (talk) 04:52, February 28, 2015 (UTC)

Episode Guides

Hi Fett. You've been using an outdated template to link to Episode Guides on StarWars.com. For example, to link to the Rookies episode, you've been using this:

{{SWArchive|url=/theclonewars/guide/episode005.html|text=''The Clone Wars'' Episode Guide: Rookies|archivedate=20110903084330}}

Instead, you should be using this:

{{SW|url=series/clone-wars/rookies-episode-guide|text="Rookies" Episode Guide - ''The Clone Wars''|archivedate=20200310022326}}

The old one no longer works, and exists as an archive for Legends pages. For Canon pages, please use the new one that I referred you to. If you have any questions, feel free to let me know. Thanks! - Brandon Rhea(talk) 05:37, March 4, 2015 (UTC)

Ok thanks also can you have the canon and legends Tabs on the Oniner Legend article Jedi Knight Fett (talk)

  • Hi. You're still using the incorrect template. Please use the "SW" template, not the "SWArchive" template. The links you are using are broken. Thanks. - Brandon Rhea(talk) 00:42, March 5, 2015 (UTC)

Sorry how are they broken and also could you link me to an article with the correct way. Jedi Knight Fett (talk)

  • They're broken because you're not using the correct template. Check out the two examples I provided in my initial message. You're using the one that says "SWArchive." That template is for Legends pages only and are for the old versions of the Clone Wars Episode Guides. The links in them no longer work. You want to use the one that says "SW," aka the second example I initially provided. - Brandon Rhea(talk) 01:27, March 5, 2015 (UTC)

Thanks in my newest page did I do it correctly. Jedi Knight Fett (talk)

Creating new pages

Jedi Knight Fett, if you're going to keep creating pages like this please actually make sure they aren't a mess when you create it. Currently, you're creating canon articles with links to Legends sources and appearances, incomplete appearances list even though the Legends page has all of the canon appearances as well for that subject, and failing to put in an infobox and if possible, a picture. Please keep all of this in mind for the future. It's far better to create a canon page with all of this done even if it's a stub, than to create a canon page that is not only a stub but also needs general cleanup before it even looks any good. Cevan (talk) 01:46, April 9, 2015 (UTC)

  • I don't know how to add votes or do the info boxes but I can make sure to get rid of any Legends Stuff in my articles
    • This is actually one of the main reasons you shouldn't be copying from the Legends articles, as after you copy, you leave the links to Legends articles in. Like this article. Trip391 (talk) 04:00, April 9, 2015 (UTC)
      • You did it again with this article: Morley. Trip391 (talk) 04:11, April 9, 2015 (UTC)
        • Jedi Knight Fett, I have no idea what you mean about "add votes," but as far as infoboxes, if you don't understand how they work and aren't willing to learn, then I am going to ask that you stop creating these pages for right now. If you are willing to learn, then please ask. We would be happy to help you, but we can't help if you don't ask for that help or aren't willing to try to learn. ProfessorTofty (talk) 04:13, April 9, 2015 (UTC)

I am willing to try to learn so if you are willing to teach go ahead

P.S I have no clue what I meant by Vote.--Jedi Knight Fett (talk) 04:15, April 9, 2015 (UTC)

  • Okay. Well, looking at the page you created for Morley originally, there were three main problems with the infobox.

-- The first was that you still had Legends links in it. If you're going to have the infobox in there, you really need to go in and make sure that you're not still linking to anything Legends. So, for example, you had a link to "Sexes" in there, but it should be "Sexes/Canon." Also, especially if something isn't obviously from the picture or episode, it needs to have a source on it. For example, in that infobox, you stated that his height is 4.7 meters, but where in canon does it say that? If you don't have a source for it, then don't include it.

-- The second was that you had one or more of what's called "unrecognized parameters" in it, parameters being something like "birth" or "mass." In this case, that was actually caused because you accidentally removed the equal sign after "era." Careful of stuff like that. Finally, the infobox had missing parameters. Again, that actually happened because of that missing equal sign.

BTW, I noticed that you are using the visual editor, which doesn't let you see so easily all of the behind-the-scenes stuff that I'm talking about. You might want to try switching to source mode instead. Alternatively, if you're still not sure and it ends up just being too much, you can just leave out the infobox so long as the rest of the page that you're creating is fine. This means somebody else will have to add it later, but that's better than having something wrong on there. ProfessorTofty (talk) 04:33, April 9, 2015 (UTC)

  • I did it on the Morley Infobox so I think i got this--Jedi Knight Fett (talk) 04:37, April 9, 2015 (UTC)
    • Not bad on the whole. Just a couple of small things - you had Lotho Minor down as "Lotho minor," make sure you keep the capitalization consistent with the article name. Also, you were still using "Imperial standard meter," which isn't a canon term, and also, technically still needed to be sourced to a canon source, either the Encyclopedia or the Databank in this case. Otherwise, pretty good. ProfessorTofty (talk) 04:46, April 9, 2015 (UTC)
    • Instead of using Legends articles to make a Canon article, use the source material. Articles on Wookieepedia are not official sources, so should not be used to make articles. Even if you remove links to Legends pages, it is still not correct. The only place you should be looking to make a canon article is the sources themselves. Use the Morley article as an example. Instead of looking at the Legends page to get the information, you should be going on starwars.com's databank, or watching the episodes of TCW that Morley appears in. Trip391 (talk) 04:47, April 9, 2015 (UTC)

I will its just a lot more work but I will thats why all of the characters I have been doing recently are all from the DB.

The Empire Strikes Back

Please be careful when making edits such as you did to the page for The Empire Strikes Back. I'm not sure what you did, and thus had to revert your edits, but your edits completely messed up a table and thus everything below it, a large portion of the page, breaking the navigation box and causing a lot of things to be displayed funny. You may want to preview your edits before saving to make sure something like this doesn't happen. ProfessorTofty (talk) 21:49, April 11, 2015 (UTC)

Ah sorry about that must have deleted something I should not have. --Jedi Knight Fett (talk) 22:38, April 11, 2015 (UTC)

Stubs

Most of the articles you added the stub template to are not actually stubs. Seeing a short article doesn't necessarily mean information is missing from an article, many times that is all the information given in the sources for the article. If you have a source that contains more information that needs to go in an article, that article would be a stub, so you should mention the source in the edit summary or talk page. Trip391 (talk) 23:17, April 13, 2015 (UTC)

Not canon

Just to let you know: the movie novelizations are not canon. You keep adding them. Not really a big deal, just wanted to make sure you know that the Legends tag in the top right corner of a page will tell you if it's canon are not. :) Calvin Schubert(talk) 00:57, April 14, 2015 (UTC)

Creating articles

When creating articles, please make sure to adhere to the Layout Guide and Manual of Style. The majority of your recent creations were missing infoboxes as well as necessary header templates like {{Conjecture}}. Please make sure to watch out for this in the future. Thanks. CC7567 (talk) 20:25, August 28, 2015 (UTC)

Warning

Consider this a formal reiteration of the numerous warnings you have received above. When creating any article, you must follow the basic rules of the Layout Guide and Manual of Style, and you must provide the source for the article's name when creating a NuCanon article. Cade GalacticRepublicEmblem-Traced-TORkit Calrayn 22:13, August 29, 2015 (UTC)

Yes And I understand that if I mess up again then that will be it so thanks for the warning.--Jedi Knight Fett (talk) 22:16, August 29, 2015 (UTC)

  • Categories, please. Cade GalacticRepublicEmblem-Traced-TORkit Calrayn 23:15, August 29, 2015 (UTC)

I know your probably about to ban me but before you do I want to know why in full detail thanks.--Jedi Knight Fett (talk) 01:19, August 30, 2015 (UTC)

Ahsoka pages

Just a heads-up that on the new pages for stuff from the Ahsoka novel that you've been creating, you've been reversing the order of where the italics and the corrected title should be in the spoiler tag. It needs to be {{Majorspoiler|Ahsoka (novel)|''|Ahsoka}} not {{Majorspoiler|Ahsoka (novel)|Ahsoka|''}} as you've been doing it, which is causing it to display "AhoskaAhsoka."
