X-wing Alliance articles

I hope you don't mind if I put up images for the articles you're working on. I can extract them and convert them to optimized PNG files pretty efficiently, but I can stop if you plan to put them up yourself. —Darth Culator (talk) 20:31, 20 March 2006 (UTC)

  • I may have eventually added images to the articles, but feel free to upload some yourself. Glad to see someone else is interested in info from that great game! --JMM 20:34, 20 March 2006 (UTC)
    • It's a great game up until the final mission... flying the Falcon in the Battle of Yavin's just not right :-P KEJ 20:36, 20 March 2006 (UTC)

Hi there pal. Please let me know of the X-wing mission articles you have made so far. I have added the majority of ships appearing in the game (Freighter names etc) MoffRebus 06:29, 16 August 2006 (UTC)

  • I haven't made any articles based on the missions in X-Wing Alliance, only many of the characters and items from the game. I've added an article based on the original X-Wing game (Rescue at Mon Calamari). I'm not sure if I'll do more, but I did add some characters and ships. There may be more to come, though. --JMM 18:30, 17 August 2006 (UTC)

Thanks

Thanks for helping out with the Battlefront names list: I was just asking for help in TFN's videogames forum when you started adding to the list! —Silly Dan (talk) 02:00, 3 August 2006 (UTC)

  • No problem. All I had to do was quickly finish one mission, and just took screen grabs of the list of names at the end. I'll leave the list of Clone Troopers (Omega 324, etc.) to someone else. :) Those are all from BF2, by the way. --JMM 02:40, 3 August 2006 (UTC)
    • Also, I'm deleting Brac Hollix per your findings. Thanks for checking! —Silly Dan (talk) 15:07, 4 August 2006 (UTC)
    • Great! I'm sort of taking it upon myself to clean up these fighter squadron and pilot pages. Something about them seems to attract fanon. --JMM 15:22, 4 August 2006 (UTC)

Star Tours

Thanks. :) Adamwankenobi 21:36, 28 October 2006 (UTC)

Congrats!!!

Congrats on being published in WTS! I loved the link to Anwis Eddicus, and also to Palpy's listening devices... it's very Delta Source. You nailed it! --Azizlight 22:52, 14 January 2007 (UTC)

  • Thanks. I was really happy to see that appear there. And also happy to see how quickly it was added to the Wookieepedia. From the time stamp, I think it was on here before I even found out mine was chosen. --JMM 18:13, 16 January 2007 (UTC)

Inq templates

  • Please do not remove the {{FAcleanup}} template from articles, even if you've addressed the issues. The Inquisitorius will convene and decide the article's fate. Until then, the notice should remain there. Atarumaster88 Jedi Order (Talk page) 21:31, 20 July 2007 (UTC)
    • Whoops. I had thought the decision was all ready made to leave it. --JMM 21:44, 20 July 2007 (UTC)

Gamer

I like the citation template you made. Nice work. I'll implement is as I see it needed. --Eyrezer 00:35, 25 July 2007 (UTC)

  • Thanks! I've also created one for the Star Wars Galaxy mag, and one for Marvel comics, using the specific story titles and issue numbers: Template:Galaxy; Template:Marvel --JMM 02:27, 25 July 2007 (UTC)
    • Hmm. Not so sure I like the Marvel one. Maybe because I've just gone through 20 issues changing them one way! --Eyrezer 03:03, 25 July 2007 (UTC)
      • At the moment, the Marvel one seems to have two links to the same article. As there isn't multiple OOU articles or stories in each issue, I'm not sure that a template is necessary. If it had a logo, that could be cool but otherwise, might be superfluous. --Eyrezer 07:48, 25 July 2007 (UTC)
        • Hm. You may have me there. I wasn't really thinking the point of the Template being used for a book with multiple stories in it. But I guess I just like the idea of listing the issues by the story title first, and then the issue number. Maybe it may make for good discussion elsewhere? --JMM 12:48, 25 July 2007 (UTC)
          • Also... I figured the template also gives as a standard way of citing the Marvel comics. Some write the issue number only, others do the full length title. Plus, I like the way it looks, too. :) --JMM 14:04, 25 July 2007 (UTC)
            • Lol. I've also been working in the last few days to standardize the Marvel citations.Unfortunately I started from 107 and worked my way backwards, otherwise we would have seen we were working in different directions earlier (I've done from 107 through to 75). I've been changing all the links to point straight to the comics pages rather than through redirects. Currently the comic issues are at Star Wars 106: My Hiromi, Star Wars 107: All Together Now, etc. I definitely prefer this over the "Marvel Star Wars 107: All Together Now". My explanation may seem odd, but it seems more self-confident, like the Marvel comics don't need to be self-conscious about being from Marvel (They are no longer marginalized! Wahoo!)
            • As to comparing your format to the one I've been changing them to, I think they are a lot closer. I probably still prefer the number first, but that is only personal I guess. --Eyrezer 00:26, 26 July 2007 (UTC)
              • I liked that change. After all, the comics' actual title is "Star Wars". I've also added redirects from "Star Wars 97", instead of the previous "Marvel Star Wars 97". I even added redirects for the story titles, too. I figure someone may want to look up "The Third Law", etc. And no, there's no reason the Marvels should be looked down upon. Especially now, after what we've seen Lumiya get involved with and be responsible for in the Legacy novels. --JMM 01:55, 26 July 2007 (UTC)
                • So with the Marvels, are we sticking with the Star Wars 107: All Together Now format? --Eyrezer 01:35, 27 July 2007 (UTC)
                  • Yes, I don't think they really make a whole lot of sense. I'm going to get rid of the template where it's been used and maybe mark it for deletion. --JMM 13:27, 27 July 2007 (UTC)

Dash Rendar's Hoth screenshot

Please provide a source for the image[1] you uploaded about Dash Rendar fighting on Hoth. - TopAce (Talk) 11:28, 14 August 2007 (UTC)

  • I forgot to add that info. It was an official shot from a website that I saved, but I can't seem to find the image again to confirm it. I'll have to do some more searching. --JMM 18:36, 24 August 2007 (UTC)

Uploading images

Hi. When uploading images, please make sure you put the Information template on the page. It saves someone else having to do it at a later date. --Eyrezer 00:26, 24 August 2007 (UTC)

  • Would it possible to upload a version of this with the rest of the body of the green guy to the left included? I tried but my pic was of a much lower quality. --Eyrezer 04:42, 2 September 2007 (UTC)

Ace's portrait

Hi... I really wonder how did you make up the portraits of Ace Azzameen for his article. MoffRebus 12:22, 21 September 2007 (UTC)

  • Actually, I only added one of those pictures. The one of Ace in his Rebel gear wasn't me. There are points in the game when you're sitting in the hangar bay before taking off for a mission. When you're there, you move the "camera" around and get different angles and views. One view let's you zoom in pretty close, and when you do that, you can see Ace sitting there. That's where I got the screen grab from. You may be able to do this during missions, too. The only problem is those pictures are kind of weird and creepy looking. :) Maybe some day we'll get a proper portrait of him. --JMM 12:34, 21 September 2007 (UTC)

Star Wars Finest

Hey, I was looking at Pellaeon, and you uploaded an image called Pellaeon_Finest but didn't give a source. Another image of Jaina you uploaded called Jaina_Finest you sourced as from "Star Wars Finest" but Wookieepedia doesn't have an article on that. Could you confirm exactly what that source is and maybe create an article on it? They're good images and I'd hate to lose them. Thanks. Havac 03:32, 25 September 2007 (UTC)

  • Star Wars Finest was a card set put out by Topps in the '90s. I did notice there was no article for it. I may add one in the future. --JMM 12:08, 25 September 2007 (UTC)
    • Great, thanks. Havac 17:39, 25 September 2007 (UTC)

Star Wars: Adventures in Colors and Shapes

Hey JMM, I saw you created the Star Wars: Adventures in Colors and Shapes article, and was hoping that if you have the book accessible to you, you might be able to tell me in what context wampas are mentioned so that I may add it to that page if it's significant enough. Thanks. Toprawa and Ralltiir 06:36, 17 December 2007 (UTC)

A Guide to the Star Wars Universe (third edition)

Hey JMM, I was going to help with the article mentioned above but it is being revised. Can I help?-- Darth Skirata Jedi Order (Talk) 17:29, 5 January 2008 (UTC)

  • While I was the last one to work on the article, I didn't put the "under revision" tag on there. I think it was Darth Culator who added it. --JMM 20:32, 5 January 2008 (UTC)

Weird request

Hey JMM, this might sound like an odd question, but do you wouldn't happen to have any of the old issues of that SWFA "magazine" would you? I was searching through the old versions of the SWFA site on sw-rpg.net, and saw that around 4 issues were made. Was there an earlier incarnation of the site on a different server? I know that some of the fiction and articles are on the current site, but is there some sort of text version of the early issues? I thought the TC discussion on Thrawn's rank, and the Rogues list were fairly intriguing, and I thought it might be interesting to see the earliest incarnation of it. Cull Tremayne 01:55, 3 March 2008 (UTC)

  • Pretty much everything from the original versions of the site are on the new one. There may have been a few revisions here and there, but most things are intact. There are a handful of things that members had taken off the site, and usually had some good reasons to do so. But really, most everything is there now. --JMM 22:34, 7 March 2008 (UTC)

Hey, JMM. I just wanted to say good job and thanks for your hard work over the last few months with regards to the expansion that you've done on topics originating from the Marvel Star Wars UK line of comics. Keep it up. Cheers, Greyman@wikiajanitor(Talk) 17:28, 13 May 2008 (UTC)

Andoorni Hui picture

Hey JMM. I've nominated Andoorni Hui for featured article consideration, and I wanted to mention in Behind the Scenes who illustrates Andoorni Hui in the Japanese X-Wing novels. I saw you put the picture up, so I thought you could check for me and tell me who the artist was?

Thanks!

NaQoit, not NaQuoit

Hello there, JJM! I would like to ask where is "NaQoit" spelled "NaQuoit". Is it in the Dark Empire Sourcebook? I just checked Rebel Dawn and Dark Empire endnotes and both state "NaQoit". Since Rebel Dawn is newer source, I'd say it takes precence. Thanks. --Darth Paulus JaingHead (May the Force serve you well!) 19:09, 12 September 2008 (UTC)

GG3 image

Hey, JMM. While you're on a GG3 image uploading kick, can you grab the image of Chreeto the Defiant in the second edition's Freedom No More section? Toprawa and Ralltiir 05:47, 2 November 2008 (UTC)

  • OK. There you go. I added a quote to the page, too. --JMM 17:02, 2 November 2008 (UTC)

Uploading images

Please put the licensing tag for images IN the template, not with a separate heading beneath it. Thanks. - JMAS Hey, it's me! 18:09, 4 November 2008 (UTC)

  • For most images, I've chosen the licensing info from the drop down box below. Is that not the way to do it? --JMM 18:31, 4 November 2008 (UTC)
    • Yeah, that is kinda confusing. No, the best way is to just not touch the drop down menu. And put the licensing tag (ie {{Fairuse}}, {{Magazinecover}}, {{Comiccover}}, {{Promotional}}, etc)) directly into the template with the rest of the information. Or, if you prefer, you can use the drop down menu, but once the image is uploaded, then move the licensing template up into the image information template and delete the ==Licensing== heading. But that just seems like more work to me. Hope that helps. - JMAS Hey, it's me! 18:42, 4 November 2008 (UTC)

Thanks

Hey, wanted to thank you for all your help and contributions to my favorite project, the Marvel index;) There are so many comics, and I haven't even finished indexing the first two volumes, so I really appreciate you hleping "from the other end" of things (ie, the latter volumes) especially! cheersJustinGann 16:34, 21 November 2008 (UTC)

SWFA's official friendship with Wookieepedia

Hey, JMM. I'm told that the Star Wars Fanboy Association is part of your webspace. Currently, the SWFA is listed and linked to under Wookieepedia's official friends box on the main page, but the SWFA does not link back to Wookieepedia in return. As a result, some users have discussed removing SWFA from Wook's official friends here. Personally I think the friendship would be good to maintain. Would it be possible for you to add Wookieepedia to the SWFA's "Friends & Affiliates" section, or to raise the issue with other members of the site? That would appease those looking to end the friendship. Cheers, -- AdmirableAckbar (Talk) 17:02, 29 January 2009 (UTC)

  • I'm surprised none of us thought of that! A Wookieepedia link will appear on our site soon. --JMM 18:16, 29 January 2009 (UTC)

Venka

Hey JMM. I saw that you added the Shadows of the Empire Sourcebook to the Source list of the Venka article, but I can't seem to find any mention of him in there. I was hoping you could direct me to this information. Thanks. Toprawa and Ralltiir 21:24, 25 May 2009 (UTC)

  • Looking back, I believe Kallic is mentioned in the Shadows sourcebook. That's why that source is listed. --JMM 01:52, 26 May 2009 (UTC)

Narra

That's what I was looking for with Narra - thanks. I wanted to leave the transparency on the image, but the purple background looked terrible. Fortunately I was foresighted enough to stop after one image and wait for someone else's take on it, so now I'll keep at it. - Brynn Alastayr 20:19, 21 July 2009 (UTC)

Outer Rim sector images

I would like to thank you for uploading all those individual sector images from the recently released Outer Rim sector map. It's really mind blowing isn't it? -- Riffsyphon1024 01:17, September 14, 2009 (UTC)

Stubs

When creating new stub articles, please do not forget to provide them with both {{Top}} template and a respective stub template. Thank you. MauserComlink 14:15, October 13, 2009 (UTC)

  • Please also note, that you should not put articles in any of the stub categories manually. Instead, you should add it to the general category ("Star Wars Authors" instead of "Author srtubs") and provide a prober stub template {{author-stub}}, that will automatically add the stub category. Thank you. MauserComlink 19:58, October 20, 2009 (UTC)

Talk messages

Please make sure to archive your old talk messages, rather than just removing them, so they may be kept as part of the public record. Toprawa and Ralltiir 16:40, October 22, 2009 (UTC)

  • Either you can't read or you choose not to. So I'll ask again and I'll repeat the same "heads up" we afford every user in your situation. Please do not just remove old talk messages from your talk page, especially messages that involve warnings, such as this one. They should be archived as part of the public record. If you need help archiving, look no further. This is pretty basic stuff, so I expect to see you take care of this. Thank you for your cooperation. Toprawa and Ralltiir 18:39, December 3, 2009 (UTC)
    • Actually, this time it wasn't me. Some vandal thought it was funny to remove everything off of this page. Another user was kind enough to revert that edit before I had a chance to. --JMM 18:42, December 3, 2009 (UTC)
      • No, I'm referring to the edits you made originally to remove talk messages prompting me to notify you about this in the first place, which you still have made no effort to replace. Toprawa and Ralltiir 18:51, December 3, 2009 (UTC)
        • Oh! OK. Sorry, I didn't realize I should have been trying to retrieve the old ones. --JMM 18:58, December 3, 2009 (UTC)
          • I would appreciate if you did, and remembered to do so in the future. Thank you. Toprawa and Ralltiir 19:00, December 3, 2009 (UTC)
            • There we go. All back to normal. All warnings and suggestions now filed away for future reference! :) --JMM 19:13, December 3, 2009 (UTC)

Appearances

Please make sure you add an "Appearances" or "Sources" section to each new article you create. Otherwise they will be deleted. Toprawa and Ralltiir 20:22, November 9, 2009 (UTC)

Yoda Stories

According to this article, scenarios in Yoda Stories are generated randomly. The articles Cebann Veekan and Myhr Rho support this and indicate that the charatcers from the game are the characters from Holiday Special, not their lookalikes. Please update and redirect the articles you create accordingly. MauserComlink 17:18, November 15, 2009 (UTC)

  • Some characters in the game do appear randomly, but others appear multiple times on certain planets. I was thinking that at least some of these characters can be created, then marked as ambiguous -- though I admit I forgot to add those tags. But that's a separate issue... in any case, though the two Wookieepedia articles may suggest those are the same characters, there's no official source saying that they are. And considering the many identical alien characters out there (how many guys in the same Greedo outfit do we have out there?), I wouldn't think we should consider these the same characters simply based on common appearance. --JMM 17:55, November 15, 2009 (UTC)
    • But multiple appearances are not a problem, since it's all non-canon anyway. MauserComlink 18:06, November 15, 2009 (UTC)
      • I guess the randomly generated characters should maybe be skipped. But I'd suggest that any characters who are in the same place at the same time in the game, always, could deserve their own entry. Certain characters are in the same cantina or some trading post every time. --JMM 18:14, November 15, 2009 (UTC)
        • That is okay, but they should be included in the articles for Holiday Special characters anyway. MauserComlink 18:22, November 15, 2009 (UTC)

RE: Thanks

No problems. Little vandal account problem that was easily dealt with :) Makes me wonder why they even try sometimes. - Cavalier OneFarStar(Squadron channel) 18:40, November 30, 2009 (UTC)

  • Right. And honestly, the comments on my talk page aren't the most vital of information, anyway! :) --JMM 18:43, November 30, 2009 (UTC)

Merchandise Wiki

Please pay a little mind to creating articles that belong on the Star Wars Merchandise Wiki rather than Wookieepedia. Star Wars Mpire, for example, has been deleted by the community because the subject is purely "merchandise" in nature and has no inherent canonical value. Toprawa and Ralltiir 19:08, January 7, 2010 (UTC)

  • I should point out that all of these were just existing listings on the Hasbro page here, with the page tagged as needing to be separated. I would suggest that the existing action figure collection pages should stay, but maybe a few of the "Other toy lines" listed on the Hasbro page could be removed and their links replaced with links to the merchandise Wiki. --JMM 19:12, January 7, 2010 (UTC)
    • Just because something exists on this wiki doesn't mean it's necessarily worth anything. Toy line articles, specifically, go widely overlooked, so it figures that there is a bunch of crap. Some toy line articles do deserve a place on this wiki, ones that have actual canonical information and value, as I have stated. Several of the articles you have recently created do not fit this criteria, I'm afraid. Toprawa and Ralltiir 19:15, January 7, 2010 (UTC)
      • I see. I would say the regular action figure lines do have some place here, since they are occasionally the source where canon info is revealed. Like naming some astromechs, etc. I think I may edit things a bit and make some of those new, little articles sections in the Hasbro article again. --JMM 19:18, January 7, 2010 (UTC)
        • Yes, I fully agree. Articles like Star Wars: The 30th Anniversary Collection or one of our FAs, The Epic Continues, are nice examples of mainline toy lines with canon info. I would say use those as the standard for deciding what deserves an article. Toprawa and Ralltiir 19:24, January 7, 2010 (UTC)
          • So, should I CSD Star Wars Transformers now? MauserComlink 19:25, January 7, 2010 (UTC)
            • Maybe give me 30 minutes on these... :) --JMM 19:27, January 7, 2010 (UTC)
              • Another suggestion is any that were redlinked on the Hasbro page, like Star Wars Mpire, could still be listed in Hasbro page, but rather than linking to an article here, link them to the SWMerch wiki instead. - JMAS Jolly Trooper Hey, it's me! 19:32, January 7, 2010 (UTC)
                • I like that option, but the short blurbs I have on the Hasbro page now can still stay, I think. If any separate articles are made on the other Wiki, the titles can link there. The page looks a bit less messy now, so having a little info is good, I think. --JMM 19:40, January 7, 2010 (UTC)

Bubo by Hasbro

Hey, JMM, good work on the Hasbro pages! I'm trying to figure out which toy line this action figure pack belongs to so I can add it to the frog-dog page (it's significant as one of the few sources that provides a 360-degree view of the species). Rebelscum.com has it listed as part of the "Ultra Figures," but I don't see that listed on the Hasbro page. Is this part of some other line, then? Thanks, ~ SavageBob 17:19, January 8, 2010 (UTC)

  • From Rebelscum's photos, the packaging of the set is the same as the other "Saga" figures. It looks like the Ultra Figures are just like a subset of figures packaged with some other accessories. But it is strange that term isn't written on the package anywhere. Maybe that's just what Hasbro called it for the sake of retailers, etc. --JMM 17:38, January 8, 2010 (UTC)

Forgotten War

Hi. I hope this message finds you well.

I finally got to read your post on the talk page for Alliance of Free Planets. Thank you for responding. Alas, my subscription to Hyperspace lapsed quite a while ago and I do not have access to go read your article, which I missed. Therefore, I don't know how you explained the idea of Marvel issue #s 81 - 106 all occurring within a single month, along with the events of Truce at Bakura. What an incredibly busy month. I would be very interested in finding out.

Anyway, I have done my own timeline work and found it very challenging to do, even adopting the 7-week-long month model that was established as a standard. I still ended up intermixing Marvel with Rogue Squadron Comics for the better part of the year. My admittedly fanon explanation was that the Alliance of Free Planets was more akin to the interim governing body of the fledgling New Republic and therefore, more like the parent of the New Republic Senate. So about a week after Endor, the Alliance of Free Planets is formed more as a counsel from which to forge the New Republic, itself formally declared a month later. But the AoFP would act as a Legislative body in the New Republic until about a year later when the New Republic Senate is solidified. So references to both the AoFP and NR could overlap without being a contradiction. Again, it's all fanon, but since you've worked on the subject as well, it occurred to me that you might find it interesting.

Thank you, Medleystudios72 00:00, January 27, 2010 (UTC)

Dash Rendar image

Hey. Any idea where this image came from? Cull put the SotE game as the source but I can't find it in either version. Green Tentacle (Talk) 21:39, July 23, 2010 (UTC)

  • Looking around at Youtube clips from both versions, I can't really find the image either. But I definitely remember it from back in the day. I'm starting to think this was some promotional online or magazine image that never made it to the game. But I do know it's from some official source. --JMM 15:07, July 24, 2010 (UTC)
    • Can't find it on the archived product page from LucasArts.com. I've taken it out of the article until we can find the source. Green Tentacle (Talk) 23:22, August 2, 2010 (UTC)

Are you 75.54.240.60? I noticed that IP address next to your username on the RC page. Star Wars Kids

Hey JMM,

Do you by chance have Star Wars Kids 11? If so, can you tell me what it says about Exar Kun's defeat over Yavin 4 please? Thanks,Tommy 9281 18:22, November 24, 2010 (UTC)

  • Sorry. Don't have that one. --JMM 22:29, November 26, 2010 (UTC)

Redirects

Hey, JMM, just to let you know, please be sure to properly link different Squadron links. For example: linking just Gold Squadron or Red Squadron will link to the disambig pages. What you could do is specify which squadron you're talking about by doing [[Gold Squadron (Rebel Alliance)/Legends|Gold Squadron]]. All the government-affiliated squadrons for Red, Gold, ect, are listed in the disambig pages themselves. I'm not sure if you're aware of this, and just wanted to let you know. :) JangFett (Talk) 16:04, February 21, 2011 (UTC)

  • Yes, I did notice the difference. For the recent page I edited, Blue Seven, I added this text that shows up in most of these call sign articles: "There were a number of starfighter squadrons with this name, and several beings went by the name Blue Seven." Since it's talking about the multiple Blue Squadrons, and not a specific one, a link to the disambig page made more sense in that case. --JMM 13:54, February 24, 2011 (UTC)

Sarkli

Hey, I see you uploaded that pic of Sarkli as depicted in Threat of the Conqueror. I'm cleaning up his page right now and it needs to be updated; I can't find info pertaining to that TCG expansion, I was wondering if you had the material. Thanks. DjMack 05:45, January 5, 2012 (UTC)

Hi JMM. I saw you added Ree-Yees to Star Tours' list of appearances. How do you know it's him? Is there a source for it? Cheers. Stake black msg 17:27, January 8, 2013 (UTC)

  • I forgot to add a source stating it. The source is actually a box set of Star Tours action figures, the same one that includes Kaink the Ewok, who appeared in the ride's safety video. It specifically says that Gran is Ree Yees, and even ID's him as the one from Jabba's palace. Though you may have to consider it non-canon. I'll be sure to add that source. --JMM (talk) 17:36, January 8, 2013 (UTC)
    • Great, thanks! There are a couple of as-of-yet unidentified Star Tours workers that might be identifiable with this toy set. Would you mind having a look when you have the chance? Cheers. Stake black msg 17:43, January 8, 2013 (UTC)
      • I'll be working on the Star Tours pages more. --JMM (talk) 17:51, January 8, 2013 (UTC)

Star Tours spaceport image.

Hi.

About that image of the spaceport from Star Tours, where can I find it on the web? I'm thinking of doing some research and expanding that article. Weedle McHairybug (talk) 20:16, January 9, 2013 (UTC)

  • Most of the images I've added to the different articles came from Youtube videos of the ride. There are actually two videos out there that look like they come from the original video source, and weren't just made by riders pointing a camera at the screen. --JMM (talk) 20:20, January 9, 2013 (UTC)
    • Okay. BTW, speaking of image uploads, when are you going to upload any images relating to the fuel trucks, like the one Rex nearly crashed into at the end of the ride? Weedle McHairybug (talk) 20:21, January 9, 2013 (UTC)
      • Believe it or not I already have an image ready. I just didn't have time to create the article. I'll be doing so soon. --JMM (talk) 20:23, January 9, 2013 (UTC)
        • My apologies, I kinda beat you to it. Fuel truck. Weedle McHairybug (talk) 20:24, January 9, 2013 (UTC)
          • Haha, no problem. That works, too! I'll add a picture soon. --JMM (talk) 21:18, January 9, 2013 (UTC)

Original Star Tours era

Just a note that the Battle of Death Star III, and thus the original Star Tours, takes place in the Rebellion era, not the New Republic era. The Rebellion era officially lasts until 5 ABY, and the date of the battle is 4.3 ABY. —MJ— Training Room 18:22, January 11, 2013 (UTC)

  • I seem to remember this coming up before. My basis on placing it there was that the New Republic was actually founded in 4 ABY, and about a month or so before the Star Tours incident. But I guess that may not be the same thing as the "era". --JMM (talk) 18:25, January 11, 2013 (UTC)
    • Correct; the New Republic was founded 4 ABY, but despite that, the Rebellion publishing era technically goes to 5 ABY. A bit odd, I know, but that's the way it is, and we have to work with it. —MJ— Comlink 18:28, January 11, 2013 (UTC)

Expanding the Incident above Coruscant article.

Hi.

Since you know about Star Tours far better than I do, I have a question regarding the Incident above Coruscant article. Can you expand it for me, and possibly rename it once all the facts are presented? I've watched the (albeit bad quality) video on Youtube regarding it, but I have absolutely no idea as to what's going on in the Coruscant segment. I don't know which sides were which (ie, were the Venators Rebel-owned or Imperial owned, and same question for the CIS-ships. I mean, it's obvious that it couldn't have been Old Republic forces or CIS forces during that battle, as the former had been abolished and reorganized into the Galactic Empire long by the time of the events of the ride, and the CIS was rendered completely defunct not only by Anakin's murder of the Separatist Council, but also by the Reconquest of the Rim by the Empire), or even if the battle was actually real (it also doesn't help that, despite there being a fleet battle overhead, not to mention at least one ship being sent down the atmosphere, the cityscape was acting oddly normal during the ordeal). This lack of knowledge regarding especially the latter is also why I named it "Incident above Coruscant (Galactic Civil War)", as I'm not sure if it's even a real conflict or not. Since you know more about the ride than I do, I thought you'd be in a better position to expand/rename the article to a better name. Weedle McHairybug (talk) 15:43, January 12, 2013 (UTC)

  • Yes, I can work on those. For some reason we've both got the idea to start expanding the article, so I'm happy doing it. I'll can eventually add some of the other events, too. There is definitely a problem making sense of the timeline and what we see in the ride. Obviously, the creators of the ride just wanted to drop the riders into scenes similar to the movies. I've looked at tons of the the material for the ride, and rode both versions a bunch of times. There's really little or no explanation of what's going on in those scenes. The Naboo and Coruscant events don't make all that much sense with the Trade Federation and CIS forces in them, or at least no one's come up with an explanation yet. Of course, all these scenes are in alternate versions of the ride. --JMM (talk) 15:59, January 12, 2013 (UTC)
    • Yeah, although at least with Naboo, the N-1 starfighters were implied to be Rebel-owned. We literally have nothing with the Coruscant battle, and it's even stranger that despite their being a battle above Coruscant, the cityscape is acting like there isn't a battle and was just an ordinary day (or night, in this case). I mean, it might be a re-enactment of the Battle of Coruscant, similar to how in real life there are Civil War re-enactments of various battles, though that still doesn't explain why buzz droids attack the StarSpeeder 1000 at one point, either.
    • I also took care of the Geonosis scenario, as well. I'm not sure whether to create an article for the Kashyyyk scenario, though, as well as whether to create a new Boonta Eve Classic article relating to the Tatooine scenario. Weedle McHairybug (talk) 16:28, January 12, 2013 (UTC)

Chewbacca Star Tours source.

Hi.

You mentioned earlier that Chewbacca was the Wookiee who was sent flying onto the Star Tours 1000 shuttle in The Adventures Continue. Can you supply me with the source stating this? I haven't found anything regarding that in my own searches. Weedle McHairybug (talk) 13:57, April 11, 2013 (UTC)

  • I don't think it literally says anywhere that that specific character is Chewbacca, but it looks like him and sounds like him, and multiple Disney sources mention Chewbacca as one of the characters appearing in the ride. This site and this site list him as one of the characters. Since it's fairly obvious their intent is that the most prominent Wookiee you see is Chewbacca, I think that's definitive enough. --JMM (talk) 14:16, April 11, 2013 (UTC)

IM-series droids.

Hi.

I need to know whether the IM-series droid appeared in the series before (under that name or anywhere else)? THe DSS article indicated that the droids featured were already stated to have been made by other companies, yet trying to search for that droid proved virtually impossible. Weedle McHairybug (talk) 14:08, May 2, 2013 (UTC)

  • Looking back, I think I spoke too soon. I think I was thinking of another droid, thinking that was an already existing one. I know that the G2 "Goose Droid" is made by SoroSuub Corporation, so I know that kind of can't be made by DSS. But I suppose the IMs can be a DSS design, but the G2 can't. --JMM (talk) 15:15, May 2, 2013 (UTC)
    • Was that droid you were thinking of by any chance the Dark Eye droids used by Darth Maul? They do look similar, Mickey Mouse ear-esque sensor mounts nonwithstanding? Weedle McHairybug (talk) 15:17, May 2, 2013 (UTC)
  • Yes, thank you! That's the one. So it should definitely be considered a separate droid, though it has a similar design. --JMM (talk) 15:33, May 2, 2013 (UTC)

F-series edit

Wasn't sure if it was fan made or actual info from the "Spot that Droid" poster, especially seeing that they worded the source in such a way that made it seem as though all the article contents did come from that poster. I kinda wish they made it a bit more specific, though. Weedle McHairybug (talk) 00:56, May 7, 2013 (UTC)

  • Hi JMM, is there any evidence of this "Spot the Droid" poster? It seems that a lot of info is being added based on a poster that is not even hosted on the fan site endorexpress.net. How do we know it's legit? Rokkur Shen (talk) 05:40, May 7, 2013 (UTC)
Good point. We should ask z-sword for confirmation about whether the poster existed, especially seeing how he's Japanese. Weedle McHairybug (talk) 10:53, May 7, 2013 (UTC)
The original version of EndorExpress.net, back when it was called SWStarTours.net did actually do a better job of specifying what was their own original material. Most of it said something like, "from the imagination of Alex Newborn." I've talked to Alex -- a contributor to that site back then -- directly and asked him about it and he confirmed that second paragraph of the Space Cap Droid profile was his, and some other items, too. I haven't seen that poster, but it seems like an awful lot of (weird) back story to make up. I will try and track down an image of the poster. --JMM (talk) 13:20, May 7, 2013 (UTC)
  • Here is a tiny section of that poster, sort of hidden away on Endorexpress, and I'm working on possibly finding more: R2-D7 and IDA. --JMM (talk) 17:46, May 7, 2013 (UTC)
    • Here we are! This very discussion and my talking with Alex Newborn has led to this EndorExpress article showing not only the original poster, but the site's translations! --JMM (talk) 01:10, May 8, 2013 (UTC)
Good work, JMM! Now we can actually cite the poster for everyone to see. Also give my thanks to Alex Newborn as well. Weedle McHairybug (talk) 02:57, May 8, 2013 (UTC)
  • I've also noticed that some of the articles here don't 100% match with those translations, so some edits may be needed. Two droid "employees" don't seem to work for Star Tours at all, for example. --JMM (talk) 13:07, May 8, 2013 (UTC)
  • Thanks for clarifying, however I'd be wary about adding the info to the Wook until we have someone verify it from our end considering the revelation that they do add their own fanon over at endorexpress. Maybe anything that is added from their site should have an "original research" template added to the relevant pages just so that users are aware to take it with a grain of salt. Or it may be worth bringing up on the senate board to see what the general consensus is. Rokkur Shen (talk) 12:00, May 9, 2013 (UTC)
    • You could always ask z-sword for verification on that source: He's Japanese, knows the language, and last I checked and far as I know is not an affiliate of EndorExpress other than a visitor to the site. Weedle McHairybug (talk) 12:06, May 9, 2013 (UTC)
      • I think for the most part, the fanon stuff from the Endorexpress pages has been removed from Wookieepedia. But in my opinion, I'd say the information in that article translating the poster is fine to use, but the Database elsewhere on their site should be ignored. I already went through the article for each of the droids on the poster and rewrote anything that didn't match that translation. I suppose we could also question their translation, but I feel like it's fine to use that info as long as the Behind the Scenes section explains the source. --JMM (talk) 12:22, May 9, 2013 (UTC)
        • Speaking of Database info, should we also mention that one of the droids, DL-X2 was reused from a cop droid prop from Hill Street Blues' third season? I initially added it in earlier, but I got doubts after learning some of the stuff was fan-made. They did post a picture as proof, though. Weedle McHairybug (talk) 12:48, May 9, 2013 (UTC)
          • Looking at the photos they have, I think its pretty obvious that's where that prop came from. Just cite that page as the source. Really, the fanon stuff was included on some of those pages as just something fun to add, and was originally clearly identified. I don't think it has to make us question the entire site. --JMM (talk) 13:16, May 9, 2013 (UTC)

Smoke generator lamp

Hi.

Could you make an image of the smoke generator lamp that was briefly seen in the baggage check queue? I can't do it myself via the ctrl-printscrn method, since its a Youtube video. Here's the link to the closest method to getting there (as I had to incorporate G2-9T's dialogue in there as well): http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=io7HhGJfzRg#t=459s

Sorry if its low quality, but its the best I've got.

Weedle McHairybug (talk) 14:08, May 10, 2013 (UTC)

  • I think there was a video with a better view. I'll find that and add an image. --JMM (talk) 13:35, May 14, 2013 (UTC)

Question about the Praya, Bar-Neth, and Edge of the Galaxy ads.

Hi. Regarding the ads on the Tourscan, are they spoken in English, or are they only given in Japanese? By that, I mean the narration. Obviously the lower screen has stuff in English. If they're in Japanese, I can't watch them even to edit the articles as I'm not good at Japanese. Weedle McHairybug (talk) 14:33, May 14, 2013 (UTC)

  • From what I can hear on those videos, they're only in Japanese. I don't speak a word of it either. I've just been going by the English words on the screen and articles created by others based on it. One question for you: What is Unidentified space transport (The Edge of the Galaxy) referring to in that video? The thing the little ship is launched from? --JMM (talk) 15:03, May 14, 2013 (UTC)
    • It was referring to the one that looks like the Space Shuttle from NASA. I'm thinking of going with mini-shuttle for the little ship. I'll try to have z-sword look into the translations from the video's narration. I'm a bit surprised he acted unfamiliar with that queue ride, though, considering he wrote the Bar-Neth and Praya articles in the first place. Weedle McHairybug (talk) 15:30, May 14, 2013 (UTC)
      • If you watch that whole video, the lower screens with text on them do mention the planets' names if you look closely. The names also show up on the weather ticker above. --JMM (talk) 15:43, May 14, 2013 (UTC)
        • Yeah, I noticed that. In fact, I added in some things to the Bar-Neth article based on those (couldn't get all of the Praya and Edge of the Galaxy ones, though, as the person doing the video moved the camera so close to the footage that there was no way to get the second half). Weedle McHairybug (talk) 16:09, May 14, 2013 (UTC)
          • I'm thinking of calling the NASA space shuttle "unidentified space shuttle" since the term shuttle does exist in the EU. Does that make sense? --JMM (talk) 12:33, May 20, 2013 (UTC)

SWG

  • Just want to say good work cleaning up Star Wars Galaxies. Keep it up! Gal-icon OLIOSTER (talk) 21:23, May 15, 2013 (UTC)
    • Yes, I stopped at the page and saw it was pretty messy. Mostly because there's just too much information there. I'll work on it a little more, too. --JMM (talk) 13:06, May 16, 2013 (UTC)

Duron Veertag

Hello JMM, I saw the old message you wrote years back about Duron Veertag's image not obviously being him, with the comic panel never identifying him as Veertag, and making a statement it could have just been Rieekan. As I just recently promoted the article to GA status, would you still believe his identity is unclear? At the time I worked on the article, I only looked at the panels shown here. Did the comic book artists illustrate Rieekan as looking different enough to indeed distinguish the two? Hanzo Hasashi (talk) 03:44, May 16, 2013 (UTC)

  • I just looked again, and its definitely not obvious. I think it's more likely that it's Rieekan because he looks closer to the comic Rieekan than the other, admittedly distant, character looks. Plus, why have a guy we never met be the one to welcome Luke back? But at the very least, neither character is specifically identified. --JMM (talk) 16:23, May 16, 2013 (UTC)
    • Do you have a scan of Rieekan from that comic to compare? I saw an image of Rieekan from a previous comic in the same Marvel series (shown in Rieekan's article), and, assuming he's drawn looking exactly the same in Golrath Never Forgets, I'd say they look different. In any case I have asked Leland Chee. Hanzo Hasashi (talk) 14:10, May 17, 2013 (UTC)
      • That's a tough one, considering the Marvel series wasn't always big on actor likenesses. Which is why it's tough to really definitively decide who that guy is. --JMM (talk) 15:18, May 17, 2013 (UTC)
  • If I may intervene, I too think that the picture used on Veertag's article actually depicts Rieekan. Although he doesn't look exactly like he did in other issues, he's still much close to Rieekan than the only other guy that could be him. Just have a look at that picture. We known that the triad is made up of Leia Organa, Rieekan and Veertag. Since Organa is in the middle, Veertag must be either on the left or on the right. However, the closest Rieekan lookalike you can find on this picture is the one on Princess Leia's left, because of his haircut. This is why I now believe that the pic you've been discussing does indeed depict Rieekan and not Veertag. --LelalMekha (talk) 15:31, May 17, 2013 (UTC)

Sourcing images

Please make sure to provide a proper source when uploading images. Merely "Starwars.com" isn't okay; please provide a direct link and preferably use the {{SW}} template. I'm referring to this upload. 1358 (Talk) 15:21, May 20, 2013 (UTC)

  • Sorry about that. It's fixed. --JMM (talk) 15:25, May 20, 2013 (UTC)

Fixing youtube links.

Hi.

I'm trying to fix some youtube links on the Be a Stormtrooper page (for some reason, when creating the article, the periods/dots were replaced with pound signs), but after adding fixing them, and verifying that adding youtube links is indeed the intention, it either logs me out or, when I made sure I'm kept on the wiki to ensure I'm not logged out, has me stuck in a loop regarding saving the edits. Can you fix the youtube links or else address the problem to the wiki staff about adding the youtube links that currently occurring on the site? Weedle McHairybug (talk) 14:18, June 24, 2013 (UTC)

  • I'm getting the exact same errors. Maybe some filter was updated and is blocking certain Youtube pages? I added a question about it to the Senate Hall page, here. --JMM (talk) 15:23, June 25, 2013 (UTC)

Star Tours Tokyo

Hi JMM! I noticed you edited the Agamar slider page a while back adding that it is mentioned in the Disneyland Tokyo version of Star Tours: The adventure continues. Do you know anything about the nature of this mention? Is it on a sign or is it mentioned in dialogue or something? Any help would be hugely appreciated! Ayrehead02 (talk) 18:44, June 28, 2013 (UTC)

I'll vouch for him. It was mentioned on the queue sign for Spaceport THX1138, specifically on the area that says "Stargazer Grill Restaurant" on Level F relating to the unnamed strut. It can be found here at the 1:29 mark: [2] Weedle McHairybug (talk) 18:54, June 28, 2013 (UTC)
Thanks for the information that's exactly what I needed for the article. Ayrehead02 (talk) 19:12, June 28, 2013 (UTC)
I guess you've got your answer already! :) --JMM (talk) 20:22, June 28, 2013 (UTC)

Snit

Hello JMM, please don't recreate the Droopy McCool page as a redirect to Snit. It was deleted to make way for the "Snit" page to be moved to "Droopy McCool". As the article (and numerous sources) explain, neither are his true name. He was given the name Snit by another but did not care for it and later adopted the name "Droopy McCool". This is the name that he became most known by both IU & OOU and therefore Droopy McCool is the name the page should go by, not Snit. Thank you. Bo Shuda (talk) 00:08, September 8, 2013 (UTC)

  • Sorry about the confusion. Looking at the articles, I thought the idea was "Snit" was going to be the new page. --JMM (talk) 02:37, September 8, 2013 (UTC)
    • No problemo! I was offline at the time and didn't know it had been left as a broken redirect. I'd assumed whoever deleted the page would have moved the page over. Just wanted to make sure it didn't happen again. Bo Shuda (talk) 10:19, September 8, 2013 (UTC)

Death Star Overbridge layout from the Owner's Technical Manual

Hi.

Can you upload the layout for the Overbridge from the Death Star Owner's Technical Manual? I'd do it myself, but I don't know how to accomplish that (not to mention I can't find any images on the web). Weedle McHairybug (talk) 13:44, November 9, 2013 (UTC)

  • I actually don't have the book! :) I got all of the info I added from the various preview pages around the web. And I think I exhausted them all. --JMM (talk) 17:42, November 9, 2013 (UTC)

Re: Gemmer

Don't worry about that, my friend. Those edits were quite minor and actually helpful, so I didn't take umbrage. ;-) Truth to be told, I'm not a Rebel pilot expert at all, but God knows why I decided to work on that guy's article—that will require supplemental reading. --LelalMekha (talk) 16:00, December 2, 2013 (UTC)

Will Scotian

Hello JMM, I saw you updated the Will Scotian article reflecting his ESB appearance. Did you also look through him in the various adaptations and sources depicting that scene? If not, then Tope definitely will. Just seeing if I can get some aid in looking for Nala Hetsime. I looked through all of Kesin Ommis's stuff and just added them to Nala Hetsime's sources and appearances, based on them being right next to each other. Hanzo Hasashi (talk) 16:11, December 2, 2013 (UTC)

  • I haven't really searched around for all those appearances where that or a similar image appears. Wookieepedia does have one big photo that is just a second or two after the image used in the Insider. --JMM (talk) 16:15, December 2, 2013 (UTC)
