Welcome, Person741963!

Hello, Person741963, and welcome to Wookieepedia! We hope you like the place and choose to join us in building the best Star Wars encyclopedia there is. Here are some things you should know:

  • Wookieepedia is the Star Wars encyclopedia that anyone can edit, but we are not a general Star Wars forum nor an all-inclusive trivia site.
  • In-universe articles are written in past tense and from a neutral point of view. Our Manual of Style and Layout Guide form the basis for writing on Wookieepedia.
  • All additions to Wookieepedia must be sourced and attributed to a reliable, official source. Fan fiction is welcome on the Star Wars Fanon Wiki.
  • As a registered Wookieepedia user, you are entitled to a user page and a unique signature. Eventually you will also gain the right to vote on community matters.
  • Remember to be nice to your fellow Wookieepedians. Avoid making personal attacks and engaging in edit wars. Using multiple accounts is not allowed.
  • Talk pages and forums are part of the public record and comments on them, including your own user talk page, should be left intact. Remember to sign your comments by typing four tildes, like this: ~~~~
Wookiees-Transparent

New to wikis? Don't worry, we were all new once. Our help pages will get you started, and the Jundland Wastes sandbox can be used for test edits. Don't be afraid to make mistakes—be bold!

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wookieepedian! If you have any questions, you can consult our FAQ, ask a question in the Senate Hall forum, visit our official IRC channel, or leave me a message on my talk page.
May the Force be with you! —Lewisr (talk) 18:16, December 14, 2018 (UTC)

New Articles

Please look at Wookieepedia:Manual of Style and Wookieepedia:Layout Guide before creating articles. Several of your recent additions have several errors that needed to be corrected. For example, the Appearances header should have 2 equal signs, the title of the book should be bulleted and in italics, and there is no need to add the /legends to the title of the article if there is no corresponding article in Canon. Thanks. <-Omicron(Leave a message at the BEEP!) 22:13, December 17, 2018 (UTC)

Title suffixes

Please note that you shouldn't use title suffixes (/Canon and /Legends) when creating articles on subjects that only exist in one continuity. The suffixes exist for technical disambiguation purposes only. Thanks. 1358 (Talk) 19:53, December 19, 2018 (UTC)

Reply

Because Vibrosword is a legends page and doesn't go on canon pages, the redlink is there so that someone can make the canon page --Lewisr (talk) 22:07, December 20, 2018 (UTC)

Images

While all good-faith contributions to Wookieepedia are appreciated, we ask that you please refer to Wookieepedia:Images and familiarize yourself with the sourcing and licensing requirements before uploading any more images. The only uploading method supported by Wookieepedia, Special:Upload, will prompt you to enter this information. Continued violation of the image policy or falsification of any information in an upload description are considered vandalism and will likely result in a block. Thank you. --DarthRuiz30 (talk) 04:20, December 23, 2018 (UTC)

Tense

Thanks for contributing to Wookieepedia! Please be advised that all articles on in-universe topics are written in past tense. Please see the Manual of Style if you would like to learn more about contributing to our encyclopedia. Thanks! --Lewisr (talk) 16:44, December 23, 2018 (UTC)

Dwoogan

Feel free to make the changes then --Lewisr (talk) 12:28, January 3, 2019 (UTC)

Backup links

Have you got the back up links? Or is that what you need help with? --Lewisr (talk) 23:25, January 4, 2019 (UTC)

  • Okay, if you go to https://web.archive.org/ and add the URL into the box which says 'Enter a URL or words related to a site's home page' and then press enter it should do it for you, hope this is helpful, feel free to ask if you need anymore help --Lewisr (talk) 23:38, January 4, 2019 (UTC)
    • Have you done this?^ --Lewisr (talk) 12:47, January 6, 2019 (UTC)
      • Then when you add the template to the page, put the URL in the arc part --Lewisr (talk) 19:58, January 6, 2019 (UTC)
        • No problem! Glad to help --Lewisr (talk) 20:32, January 7, 2019 (UTC)

Formatting

Hello, please when you create pages make sure you add categories to the bottom of the page. Also please make sure you format things properly like this rather than how you do it, let me know if you have any questions, thanks! --Lewisr (talk) 16:51, January 8, 2019 (UTC)

Categories

Please add proper categories to pages, if someone is a male then add Category:Males, rather than just Category:Characters. Please just review your edits before you publish, its really not that hard --Lewisr (talk) 16:17, January 19, 2019 (UTC)

Nonsense warning

Please do not add nonsense to Wookieepedia. It is considered vandalism. If you would like to experiment, use the Jundland Wastes sandbox. Thank you. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 06:43, January 20, 2019 (UTC)

Interwiki links

Some of the interwiki links you have recently added to canon articles (such as this one) lead to the Legends page on the other wiki, and are already present on the Legends counterparts here. I presume this is because the interwiki links there haven't been updated, but please make sure you're linking to the right pages. Zed42 (talk) 19:22, January 22, 2019 (UTC)

Alphabetizing categories

When adding categories to articles, please make sure you list them in alphabetical order, as required by the Wookieepedia Layout Guide. Thank you. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 00:53, January 27, 2019 (UTC)

Roksur

Hello, and thanks for trying to help out! Please note than for SWTOR articles, the template {{TORcite}} must be used to reference all information from the game (mission, planet, etc.) instead of just reffing the game itself. Thanks! Fan26 (Talk) 16:17, January 28, 2019 (UTC)

  • Also, as regards sourcing, please note the differences here. The source must be italicized inside the ref, and the info should be the first ref, not the last. Thanks! Fan26 (Talk) 16:19, January 28, 2019 (UTC)

WookieeProject templates

If you're going to create talk pages just to add WookieeProject templates, please include {{Talkheader}} at the top as well. Although I do question the necessity of creating talk pages just for this purpose to begin with. 1358 (Talk) 22:22, February 3, 2019 (UTC)

Absanz

Because as I said its a duplicate link, he's linked below in the history --Lewisr (talk) 21:16, March 2, 2019 (UTC)

  • No because we don't need to link it twice, and per the latest mofference we should only link in the quote attribution if they aren't linked anywhere else --Lewisr (talk) 21:24, March 2, 2019 (UTC)

Paxton Rall

Hey, I've seen you do work on the page for Paxton Rall. Do you actually have him as a companion? Fan26 (Talk) 16:01, March 15, 2019 (UTC)

  • Then where does your info come from? Fan26 (Talk) 22:00, March 15, 2019 (UTC)
    • I see. Thank you for your time. Fan26 (Talk) 22:12, March 15, 2019 (UTC)

Purple Seven

Its an article about the callsign. Its unnecessary to have pages on both a callsign and an unidentified rebel pilot with that callsign, so we merge the info onto one callsign page. See Tan Leader for example. --Lewisr (talk) 17:52, March 19, 2019 (UTC)

Hydrogen sulphide

In Doctor Aphra 15 --Lewisr (talk) 21:43, March 21, 2019 (UTC)

  • How is it spelled in Choose Your Destiny: An Obi-Wan and Anakin Adventure? Aphra uses Hydrogen sulphide so the page should be at that unless CYD uses Hydrogen sulfide --Lewisr (talk) 21:58, March 21, 2019 (UTC)
    • Okay thanks for clearing that up! --Lewisr (talk) 22:02, March 21, 2019 (UTC)

Deletion Template

Hello GeneralGrievous7! I seen your recent edit for Leego, when you put the template in your reason was "Unnecessary Redirect", please note this page was Fanon. So next time you might come across this, put fanon instead. Anyways, May The Force Be With You! --Supreme Commander Raxus (talk) 18:07, May 28, 2019 (UTC)

Warning

Please, do not copy-paste information from other articles, continuing this could lead to a block. Thanks--DarthRuiz30 (talk) 20:33, June 7, 2019 (UTC)

Images

While all good-faith contributions to Wookieepedia are appreciated, we ask that you please refer to Wookieepedia:Images, which can be found under the "other policies and guidelines" link in your welcome message, and familiarize yourself with the sourcing and licensing requirements before uploading any more images. The only uploading method supported by Wookieepedia, Special:Upload, will prompt you to enter this information. Wikia's non-standard upload forms are not supported under Wookieepedia policy, and ignorance of the uploading rules is not an acceptable excuse. Continued violation of the image policy or falsification of any information in an upload description are considered vandalism and will likely result in a block. Thank you. Fan26 (Talk) 23:17, June 19, 2019 (UTC)

1st v 1stm

Hey, just so you know for the future, in the sources section it's {{1stm}}, not {{1st}}. Thanks! Fan26 (Talk) 19:06, June 20, 2019 (UTC)

Categories

This is your second notice for improperly adding categories to articles, your first being here. As Lewis said to you then, it's really not that hard. Slow down and take a moment to see that the categories you're adding are correct and actually exist. Redlink categories don't work. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 02:38, June 22, 2019 (UTC)

Bibliography

While creating artists articles, please do not add Star Wars work section otherwise the page may be tagged for deletion or verification. The real section is called Bibliography. Thanks--DarthRuiz30 (talk) 19:21, July 4, 2019 (UTC)

  • Ideally, those pages should be formatted like this. Also, be sure to check Special:Whatlinkshere to see what else the artist has worked on. Let me know if you need any help! - Cwedin(talk) 19:24, July 4, 2019 (UTC)
    • Another advice, do not leave a space between the eras template and the main text, it should be like this. Thanks--DarthRuiz30 (talk) 19:36, July 4, 2019 (UTC)

Star Wars: Edge of the Empire Core Rulebook

Hi, could you please direct me to the page where this individuals and locations are mentioned in the book. Given that those names are currently questionable. Thanks--DarthRuiz30 (talk) 21:02, July 12, 2019 (UTC)

  • All of these things you're creating are general gameplay examples and are not in-universe subjects. I will be deleting them shortly. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 21:23, July 12, 2019 (UTC)

When creating articles....

....we require that you actually compose complete sentences. This is not a complete sentence. Please revise it. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 22:05, July 12, 2019 (UTC)
....do us all a favor and write something that actually has substance, value, and doesn't sound like lazy ridiculousness. "A governor governed Ord Mantell"? You can do better. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 22:14, July 12, 2019 (UTC)

  • Don't ignore these messages either, or you're likely going to find yourself on the wrong end of things. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 22:27, July 12, 2019 (UTC)

When creating articles....

....we require you to have a basic proficiency of the English language in your writing. To that end, you need to be able to construct full and complete sentences with at least a passable level of grammatical skill. This is not acceptable. That is one long run-on sentence, when it should be two complete sentences. And I know you're smart enough to realize that you need to be capitalizing Jedi. I don't think you lack the ability to do any of this. I just think you're putting forth a negligible level of effort. If you aren't able to satisfy these issues, then you shouldn't be creating articles. Please consider this your formal warning. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 23:14, July 12, 2019 (UTC)

  • I'm a bit tired after I go to sleep, I'll probably be more focused. GeneralGrievous7 (talk) 23:19, July 12, 2019 (UTC)

A.H. 333

Hello Grievous. Regarding the aforementioned page, do you actually have SWTOR, or were you just filling in a redlink based off the quote? If it's the former, please remember to use Template:TORcite and not just ref it to the game, and if it's the latter, I'd recommend you don't create articles unless you have the source. Thanks. Fan26 (Talk) 17:35, July 15, 2019 (UTC)

  • I recommend you to listen to this. I've seen you fill redlinks and add references to articles, while its appreciated are you making sure that the information being sourced is correct? Or is it just a "task" of referencing everything?. Same goes to redlinks are you making sure of spelling, that its a real appearance?, there's nothing wrong with helping, but if its not done correctly it could end up being less helpful.--DarthRuiz30 (talk) 19:34, July 15, 2019 (UTC)
  • So you saw this quote in SWTOR? Fan26 (Talk) 21:01, July 15, 2019 (UTC)
    • In that case is please use Template:TORcite with the proper info for this quote, because all SWTOR articles (possibly excluding mounts and weapons) cannot be reffed to the general game, which I have told you. Thanks. Fan26 (Talk) 11:49, July 16, 2019 (UTC)
      • A couple of things. First, TORcite is only for references; "Appearances" just needs whichever iteration of the game the thing appeared in. Secondly, to be sure, I'd like to know the specific context for this quote, so I can be sure you've filled in TORcitr accurately. Fan26 (Talk) 12:15, July 16, 2019 (UTC)
      • To reiterate, I would appreciate it if you would provide the context for the quote to make sure you've filled out TORcite properly. Fan26 (Talk) 17:42, July 16, 2019 (UTC)
        • Again, please provide the proper context and fill out TORcite correctly (you need the name of the conversation, not the dialogue of the conversation). If you do not get back to me in two days or confirm my suspicions by admitting you don't actually have the proper information, I will mark the article with Template:Verify. Fan26 (Talk) 12:42, July 18, 2019 (UTC)

Warning

This is a general warning to you regarding many of your edits, which administrator DarthRuiz30 recently called you out on. It's abundantly clear that you're just going through the wiki and finding redlinks to try and create, while making no effort at all to verify the accuracy of the information that you're adding. You're just borrowing whatever citation or information that is already present on other articles to "reference" your information. And in cases like this with single-source articles, you're just adding the Appearance already found on the page into a citation, again without actually taking the time to verify the accuracy of that information. Wookieepedia is not a source — that means that information you find on articles is not guaranteed to be accurate, nor should it be treated as such or relied upon for the basis of sourcing information in other articles; rather, you should be taking the time to verify the information yourself first-hand from a given source. If I see you continue to do this, I will issue you a block from editing, in accordance with the Attribution policy. Toprawa and Ralltiir (talk) 20:36, July 16, 2019 (UTC)

Galaxy Hoppers: Crossy Wars

Hi, can you point me where it says that Galaxy Hoppers is a licensed game by Lucasfilm? Thanks--DarthRuiz30 (talk) 19:11, July 20, 2019 (UTC)

  • I don't have a source yet. GeneralGrievous7 (talk) 19:12, July 20, 2019 (UTC)
    • If you can't find one, both Crossy Wars and Crunchy are going to be deleted for being unlicensed content--DarthRuiz30 (talk) 19:17, July 20, 2019 (UTC)

Attark

I'm pretty certain that article isn't a canon source --Lewisr (talk) 13:35, August 19, 2019 (UTC)
