My Zekka Thyne featured page nomination
Hey, my name's Colin. I've been working very hard on the Zekka Thyne page for a featured article nomination, and as of right now, I've added all the pics and info I can get my hands on, read and reported on all the material the character is featured in, and addressed almost every concern that's been voiced.
The only thing that hasn't been addressed is that the article is lacking specific information about the Star Wars Galaxies missions Zekka assigns. Unfortunately, I can't find that information anywhere online, and since I haven't had a SWG account in years, I can't log on and find it myself. I'm hoping somebody will add that eventually, but in the grand scheme of things, I think it's pretty minor information, and would argue it shouldn't hold up its nomination.
I've been told the nomination has potential but doesn't have the votes, and that I should ask some people to review it for me. (I haven't actively asked people yet; I've never really gone through this process before.) I was hoping maybe you'd take a look at it and see if it's worthy of a vote from you? Or give me any further suggestions? I'd really appreciate it!
Thanks!

GA Status
Hello Ataru Master!
I have worked a great deal on rewriting a couple of articles and I was curious if you think they have a shot as a GA nom. The two articles I'm mostly inquiring about would be kolto and Valara Saar. I read the requirements and I think they hold up, for the most part. Being new, I don't quite know what to think, however. I thought you would be a good person to bounce this off of. In truth, I'm not quite sure about the referencing for the Valara Saar article, but that is my only reserve. I'd appreciate any comments when you get the chance. No rush. In the interim I will begin copyedting Lando Calrissian per Admirable Ackbar's go-ahead.

Vader's Form II practise
Regarding what we were speaking of on my talk page, I also have my copy with me, and it... actually doesn't say anything concrete about Vader practising Form II. In fact it both infers and contridicts it. Read these:
In favor of Form II:
- "His style borrowed elements from all techniques of combat, even from the highest, most dangerous levels, and his moves were crisp and unpredictable."
- ―Dark Lord: The Rise of Darth Vader
Contradicting Form II:
- "No whirling now; now windmilling or deft lunges. He simply used his bulk and size to remain wedded to the floor. It was an old style, the very opposite of what was said to be Count Dooku's style, and Shryne had no defense against it."
- ―Dark Lord: The Rise of Darth Vader
- Well, regarding Form III and IV, the book does say he utilizes them. Again, read this:
- "At various times his stances and techniques mimicked those of Ataru and Soresu, but Vader appeared to lack a style of his own, and executed his moves stiffly."
- ―Dark Lord: The Rise of Darth Vader
And regarding Form IV, he practised it as Anakin, so I think that makes Vader a practitioner by default. Darth Vatrir

Missions
OK, in the masterwork Star Wars Missions 18: Rogue Squadron to the Rescue:
Wedge and Rogue Squadron are on Kwenn Space Station, scouting for new Rebel bases (Even though they already know about Hoth at this point. Go figure.) and they observe Imperial forces seizing the Stellar Manx. The Imperials detain the crew for no good reason, which prompts Wedge to send a message probe to Princess Leia on Malagarr for assistance. Wearing disguises, Wedge, Wes, and Tycho, go to Hangar 872-H to investigate. While observing the Stellar Manx, they are found by Stormtroopers.
The ensuing exchange:
Stormtrooper: You're not supposed to be here! Wedge: What do you think we should do, boys? Tycho: I think we should give these stormtroopers free dancing lessons. Wes: Or at least teach them some manners.
- |
Now, the next part is ambiguous, since it's the actual "game" part of the book.
The Rogues evade the Stormtroopers, and split up. Thanks to the efforts of one of them, the Manx crew is liberated, and the Manx itself retrieved from Imperial hands. It is learned that the Imperials were going to take the Manx to Bonadan for an inconspicuous rendezvous with Frap Radicon, where they would initiate a plan to develop new gravity well technology. The Rebels (not the Rogues), eventually foil the plan.
Any more questions, don't hesitate to ask. Thefourdotelipsis 01:55, 26 October 2007 (UTC)

Hello, Ataru. Per the Inq meeting about Manaan, I was curious what the process is to renominate the article. It lost its FA status and I have been working to get it back up to that. Clarification
Nice catch on Asyr, but then I'd still like some clarification as to why they were captured at all. On Thrawn's crew, I still think there needs to be further explanation. If Thrawn captured the Hopskip, then why would he use the freighter crew, and why would the crew help him? Is there a reason that some random mercenaries agreed to help Thrawn? Karrde
I'm locked out of editing the FAN page, so I'm responding here.
- It goes by the name of "the Car'das", not the name of "Car'das".
- Not a fan of one-paragraph sections. At all.
- You haven't replied here, but the objection is still there on the page, so I'll draw your attention to it.
- It never is in the sources.
- You're right; he never got around to it. The wording should have been tweaked, which it now has.
- That's odd. Looks like I got distracted halfway through and came back doing something else. Fixed.
- He ran the pseudogovermental information-sharing agency. Basically, a massive NGO. It's not a business; it's an extragovernmental bureaucracy.
- Is it ever called that in the books or in a source? If not, than that's fanon and should be removed. Bureaucracy implies that a government bureau of some type is involved, and that's clearly not the case. And Jorj Car'das, who occupied a similar position for Sidious, is not categorized thus. That means one of them is wrong. Atarumaster88 20px (Talk page) 07:10, 26 December 2007 (UTC)
- Car'das's position wasn't anything alike. He was a covert spy for Darth Sidious. Talon Karrde ran a legitimate bureau which shared information between the New Republic and the Imperial Remnant, explicitly compared with BoSS, which was also a massive NGO -- a bureaucracy without a government.
- So what's the remaining deal on this one?

- If you're saying what I think you're saying, don't be silly. The names of the books are all in the link; spelling them all out is just pedantic.
- Well, it's kinda odd to have a reference that has all the books in just one lump sum. There's gotta be a better way than having such an inconsistent reference. Atarumaster88 20px (Talk page) 07:10, 26 December 2007 (UTC)
- What's wrong with it? We talk about "the prequel trilogy" when talking about all three films in a bunch, we talk about the Special Editions instead of the Special Editions of A New Hope, The Empire Strikes Back, and Return of the Jedi. Why? Because the individual components are utterly unimportant if all you're talking about is the group. Do we have to mention ever member of the stormtrooper corps when we discuss it? How is the reference inconsistent? What in the name of Waru is it inconsistent with? It's a trilogy. Unless you're talking about one of the books in particular, you don't need to spell out the titles of everything belonging to the group which you're discussing as a group. Like I said, pedantic.

- The use of "off and on tinkered" in the intro is suspect; could be better worded.
- I believe this is fixed. -Solus (Bird of Prey) 04:04, 27 December 2007 (UTC)
- " as seen when Luke removed it when Vader was dying" appears to be OOU. Reword or remove.
- Vaped. -Solus (Bird of Prey) 04:04, 27 December 2007 (UTC)
- I'm hoping all that stuff in the design part is stated in a sourcebook or something and not just fan observation. The former is preferred.
- No, I thought it was okay since I did it to FA Amidala's wardrobe. I don't think a sourcebook would spend that much time elaborating on his suit... I'm not sure what to do with the section. -Solus (Bird of Prey) 04:04, 27 December 2007 (UTC)
- "was fairly normally shaped around the back"- what is a normal shape?
- Fixed. -Solus (Bird of Prey) 04:04, 27 December 2007 (UTC)
- Unless mentioned in a source, the reference to the kama is unnecessary.
- Blown up. -Solus (Bird of Prey) 04:04, 27 December 2007 (UTC)
- " Though he was limited in areas, as a suit it gave Vader a much larger window of opportunity." This sentence doesn't make a whole lot of sense or serve a meaningful purpose.

- Is there an extra apostrophe here? "mask's 'goggles.'"
- Destroyed. -Solus (Bird of Prey) 04:04, 27 December 2007 (UTC)
- "thus were replaced and performed by his armor". Remove the "and performed by"
- Bahleeted. -Solus (Bird of Prey) 04:04, 27 December 2007 (UTC)
- "his boots remained planet to the floor while"- I think it's supposed to be "planted"
- Corrected. -Solus (Bird of Prey) 04:04, 27 December 2007 (UTC)
- Gah! Present tense! "Vader's breathing is machine-regulated"
- Fixed. -Solus (Bird of Prey) 04:04, 27 December 2007 (UTC)
- It seems to me that there is an awful lot of speculation in here. I recommend you look at other technology-type articles to see what type of content is allowed; I also recommend you ask someone with more knowledge of the source material than I- perhaps Darth Culator or Gonk or Green Tentacle could help you with that.
- I'll do that, thank you. -Solus (Bird of Prey) 04:04, 27 December 2007 (UTC)
- Check the tone of the writing. It should be written in an encyclopediac tone, and there are parts of it that sound more . . . informal. That doesn't really help, sorry. Parts of it also read like an analysis, rather than a description.
- This is about the spine, isn't it? The researcher in me has betrayed me once more. I'll refer to the advice above. -Solus (Bird of Prey) 04:04, 27 December 2007 (UTC)
- Is the "height" section really germaine to the armor? Just something to think about.
- Ah, too bad. I loved that piece of information. Shot. -Solus (Bird of Prey) 04:04, 27 December 2007 (UTC)
- More present tense: "the worst of Vader's injuries result from "

- Origin section is a bit too long; condense so it's not a retelling of the last thirty minutes or so of Ep. III
- Is it better, or could it be further condensed? -Solus (Bird of Prey) 04:04, 27 December 2007 (UTC)
- The paragraph starting with this sentence: "Upon his revival as a cyborg, Vader questioned his Master about Padmé." is entirely unnecessary.
