The Kwenn Space Station, sometimes called Space Station Kwenn, was a space station located in the Kastolar sector of the Mid Rim, on the Coreward edge of Hutt Space. It was situated along the Ootmian Pabol hyperlane. The Kwenn Space Station orbited the planet Kwenn.
Characteristics
Kwenn Space Station orbiting Kwenn
The Kwenn Space Station had a three-tiered structure. At the top was a city-like structure, which was home to entertainment and recreational facilities for travelers. Below that was a platform with dozens of space docks for smaller ships. These space docks had a modular construction, and could easily be reconfigured for starships of various classes and sizes. At the bottom was a hexagonal latticework structure, which acted as a drydock for large capital ships (such as Star Destroyers). Repulsorlift tubes and corridors led from the main drydock and the smaller docking bays into the main part of the station.
History
As the Kwenn system was on the outer edge of the Mid Rim near a major hyperspace route, the station acted as the last major supply depot and refueling station for starships heading for the Outer Rim of the galaxy.
In the wake of the Invasion of Naboo, a Republic arsenal ship, which had been transporting several Trade Federation battle droids for destruction at a Republic decommissioning facility, had gone missing. The Office of the Supreme Chancellor and the Jedi Council sent a team consisting of Vor'en Kurn, Sia-Lan Wezz, Rorworr, and Deel Surool to locate the vessel. The team's search led them to Kwenn Space Station, where they became involved in a firefight when they discovered several reactivated battle droids in the station's lower levels.[3]
In the early days of the Rebel Alliance, a financial debacle on Ylesia led to the Hutt clan Besadii selling Kwenn Space Station to Kwenn Holdings. After the sale, other criminal elements, such as the Anjiliac kajidic, Black Sun, and the Tenloss Syndicate vied for control of the space station. At this time, the Kwenn Space Station was considered neutral territory between the Hutts and the Galactic Empire[4]
Shortly after the Battle of Yavin, the Imperial I-class Star Destroyer Relentless docked at Kwenn Space Station. The hunt for Adar Tallon began there.[5]
Rebel agent Kassar Kosciusko tried to keep a cell on Kwenn. Unfortunately, the activities of Ketton spy Derrida often disrupted Kosciusko's activities.[6] Eventually, Derrida was apprehended by Kyle Katarn and a pint-sized lagomorph, who almost razed Kwenn station capturing her.[7]
Sard Nightbringer held an auction to sell an experimental personal shield generator that she looted from Imperial Research and Development Station T-1583 on the Stellar Mermaid which was docked at the station .[8]
