Ok, here's the Behind the Magic info I had promised you. I've already added a tidbit to the article's BTS and sourced it, but there's a "Costume details" image that shows different parts of the droid anatomy that aren't included in the article anywhere. They include the "servomotor" at the left tricep, the "recharge coupling" in the middle of the torso, the "powerbus cables" linking the torso to the waist, and "intermotor actuating coupling" at the knee joints. No descriptions are given for any of these. You may want to ask JMAS to see if he could grab this image for you, which is located in the "Costume/Model Details" link in his character page. IMO, it would be nice to stick at the bottom of the page somewhere, maybe. Toprawa and Ralltiir 05:13, 29 March 2008 (UTC)

Done with Outbound Flight. Man, that was a lot more than I thought. You can do a final clean up of those sections, but I think it's pretty good. Time for the HoT duology. Thanks for the tip, Ackbar. I thought it would be frowned upon if I just went and fixed what I thought was wrong with the article. I've seen other users do it, but I figured they knew something I didn't. I'm relatively new to objecting, so please bare with me. Also, it seems confusing to me that Fourdot was the first supporter (assumed as the nominator), and then JMAS is the one addressing the objections. Maybe next time you should try talking it out instead of violating the 3RR rule. Also, I find it funny that you are so intent on removing something that is stated in the opening paragraph, throughout the article, and included in the category at the bottom. Moxin Tark quotage

Hey Ackbar. I just wanted to let you know why I thought that the quote for Moxin Tark should be expanded. The way it is right now, it is implying that Cracken considers him one really dangerous individual, above the norm, while in reality he considers him dangerous just because of his previous involvment with the alliance. I think the quote on its current state is a bit misleading and that is why I changed it. Would you reconsider changing it back to its expanded form, now that I have explained the reason for the expansion? Carlitos Moff 06:48, 6 May 2008 (UTC)

A message from the project manager
A belated update on Project Wormhead [[User:Atarumaster88/Project Wormhead|Project Wormhead]]!
Sorry about the delay in getting this out. I was on vacation at the beginning of the month and forgot about it. First, let me thank a number of people for their efforts on the project this past month: Greyman, for his work on the Marvel expansions. Jaina Solo added information from Star Wars Union, and a couple other people have made smaller edits as well. That's very encouraging and I thank all of you for your help. For the moment, I have to say that Luke isn't my priority at the moment-I'm working pretty hard on finishing Wraith Squadron, but once that's done, I will be back to work . In other news, Project Wormhead has now surpassed the actual Luke Skywalker article in content and will soon pass up Palpatine. It'll probably take us another month to pass up Mr. Horn, though. Anyway, keep up the good work. Atarumaster88 20px (Talk page) 18:13, 14 May 2008 (UTC)

Who invented the Ubese?

I think you're right about the Shadows of the Empire Sourcebook being the first description of the Ubese, though they were previously mentioned in the SOTE novel and alluded to in the ROTJ novel when their language is named. Thanks for the corrections! —Silly Dan (talk) 22:19, 14 May 2008 (UTC)

Tapani Sector

  • Under normal circumstances I would agree with your change. However, another Featured Article, Natasi Daala, has a similar item listed in her homeworld category. • I'm afraid I don't understand your reasoning for your changes to the Martio Batch article. I have examined his hair colour quite well and have concluded that his hair is undoubtedly black. I have referenced Josef Grunger, so that a comparison may be made to emphasize the validity of my conclusion.--Mith'raw'nuruodo 22:43, 15 May 2008 (UTC)

A favour

Hi Acky,

I'm back, editing Czulkang Lah, and reading Aruk Besadii Aora and your other noms with my typical fascination. Thing is, I ordered the New Essential Chronology in order to make my NJO push a little easier, but it hasn't arrived. I was wondering if you had a copy, if only to inform me whether there is any information on Czulkang Lah in it. There's some suspect info which I suspect is 9 parts speculation and 1 part fact, so I need to check! I you check lah's page, it should lead you to the info where it's present in the NEC, if it is at all. I'm not sure how its laid out.

That comprises the favour you owe for the monks ;-) but I would very much like to work on Nom Anor together because he's one of my favourites, his article is shoddy, and I saw he was on your list, as he is on mine.

Harrar 13:37, 26 May 2008 (UTC)

    • Thanks a bunch for that; as I suspected the info was wrong! A late July/early August is great for me; I have Crimson Empire (bought it for the Nom Anor appearances) and the entire NJO except for the ebooks (but I do have Ylesia), plus the NEGtC and the NJO Sourcebook - so I'm able to do whatever info on him. Good stuff then—thanks again for the info Harrar 18:11, 26 May 2008 (UTC)

Re:Boushh

First of all, I need to apologize for not getting back to you earlier on this. I had thought that I'd be able to catch you in IRC, but things haven't worked out that way. I should have contacted you on your talk page earlier and I'm sorry about that. With regard to Boushh in the RotJ radio dramatization, there appears to be no information about the bounty hunter himself. Also, aside from a POV scene involving C-3PO, Jabba and Bib Fortuna behind the curtain while Leia frees Han, the radio dramatization seems to adhere fairly closely to the movie (with the exception some of the characters' expository dialogue). If you need more detailed information, IRC would probably the best place for that—though I'm afraid my presence there will be intermittent for the next few days.Muuuuuurgh 16:49, 30 May 2008 (UTC)

A message from the project manager
The latest on [[User:Atarumaster88/Project Wormhead|Project Wormhead]]!
It's summer and that means, at least for me, that a lot of things need to happen over the next couple months if Luke is going to be a GA this year. I don't even entertain any notions of FA, because there's simply too many obscure/minor appearances and sources. I will be working heavily on the novels, and I know others are focusing on comics, games, and whatever those Missions things fall under. Thanks Xwing. For this month, I'm going to hammer out the rest of the Young Jedi Knights series first and then progress to the Bantam novels whenever I get to them. That means if you want to work on a Bantam novel, it probably should be done this month. ;-) I hope everyone enjoys their summer and finds a chance to participate. I definitely appreciate all the work that's been done so far. Cheers. Atarumaster88 20px (Talk page) 17:59, 3 June 2008 (UTC)

The reason being...

...that it's bad practice. It's not done frequently, not as far as I'm aware, and usually when it is done it's done after maybe one or two comments have been posted. The better option is to tell the people what they're doing wrong, and then leave it there for other people to see, so they know that it's wrong as well. We don't allow for the removal of personal message from user talk pages, so I don't see why it should be allowed on article talk pages. Thefourdotelipsis 10:10, 14 June 2008 (UTC)

Sev'rance Tann

Why did you revert my edits to Sev'rance Tann? They were perfectly legitimate.--Mitth'raw'nuruodo(Imperial HoloNet)20px 14:52, 16 June 2008 (UTC)

  • How can I respect your reversions if you neither have the courtesy to explain why you made them nor the civility to discuss them? I want to work this out, but I cannot do that if you refuse to explain your rationale.--Mitth'raw'nuruodo(Imperial HoloNet)20px 15:41, 16 June 2008 (UTC)
    • I apologize, I had not expected a late response. Nevertheless, the wording is near-identical to that in the Chiss article. Besides, reverting edits because you think it sounds like original research is inappropriate. You can't go around getting rid of edits based on opinion alone. Whether or not my prose sounds essay-ish or not is not grounds for a revert. I find your neglect to include explanations in your edit summaries for a revert highly rude.--Mitth'raw'nuruodo(Imperial HoloNet)20px 15:46, 16 June 2008 (UTC)
      • How you spend your time is irrelevent; you reverted my edits without explanation or discussion.--Mitth'raw'nuruodo(Imperial HoloNet)20px 15:48, 16 June 2008 (UTC)
        • How is it original research if I got the information from another article? I did nothing. Besides, I worded it as simply and directly as possible. I'm not sure how you expect me to add in information when the simplist way of putting it was dismissed as "OR" and essay-sounding.--Mitth'raw'nuruodo(Imperial HoloNet)20px 16:00, 16 June 2008 (UTC)
          • Well for that I thank you. I do think that Tann's possible name configuration is worth mentioning, however. Also, if there is OR in the Chiss article, I suggest that it be removed, as their appears to be alot of "theoretically"s and "it can be assumed"s; assuming all of that can be considered indicators of OR.--Mitth'raw'nuruodo(Imperial HoloNet)20px 16:06, 16 June 2008 (UTC)
  • I just assumed you had other priorities and decided to tackle it myself. I assume that since a third party has now reverted it, the consensus is that it should not be added at all?--Mitth'raw'nuruodo(Imperial HoloNet)20px 00:40, 18 June 2008 (UTC)
    • Yes, I knew he was (he told me). I did not begrudge him the edits, I simply asked him to wait until a consensus could be made. This however was before I knew about the IRC discussion. It seems though, that it has already been decided by several important Wookieepedians, so I can't see much point in attempting to revive a dying issue (if it is not already dead). Thank you for your cooperation during this time.--Mitth'raw'nuruodo(Imperial HoloNet)20px 12:04, 18 June 2008 (UTC)

Re:FAN objections

  • Well these are the only things I saw wrong with the article, and I didn't feel like modifying it myself, seeing as how it isn't my nomination. If I didn't address them, there would be nothing to object to. So, if these things can't be objected to, than the article cannot be improved. I also do not see how my objections could be discouraging, I made the objections as easy to understand as possible and the objections themselves are easily corrected.--Mitth'raw'nuruodo(Imperial HoloNet)20px 14:03, 21 June 2008 (UTC)

Hello. I do not know if you remember, but I am Darth blight, the one from star wars fannon, and the same one who used to reside here. the only reason I'm giving you this message is because it is reffering to your quote on the story's talk page. First, Gaul is a female. And two, I am young myself, and I did not intend on it being like that; I am not a perv.

Re: Links

I’m sorry, but I find linking hard. I apologize for the red links and hope I won't be sanctioned for my mistakes. I corrected them.

I have emerged from the depths of the internet to speak to you on matters of your objections

So, you have objections. So, I'm locked out of FAN. So, we talk about them here. Or in IRC, but you're not there now.

  • I clarified that first one a bit to specify war as the "it". I'm not really seeing what else would be off there, so see how you like it now.
  • It's stated there, yes, but if Fact File does one thing well, it's make up completely off-the-wall shit. Other sources, primary sources rather than sloppily-researched secondary ones, make it clear Corran never had anything to do with directly hunting down Jedi. "the Jedi were extinct by the time Corran had learned they had existed," the Krytos Trap. "If not for various holodramas that painted the Jedi Knights as villains and later reminiscences by his grandfather about the Clone Wars, Corran would have known little or nothing about the Jedi. Like most other children, he found them vaguely romantic and all too much sinister, but they were distant and remote while what his father and grandfather did was immediate and exciting," The Bacta War. While it could be true that Corran's efforts in investigations led to the capture of Jedi, it would have to be indirect and completely without his knowledge. As such, I'm not sure what place it has in the body of the article, especially as it's a whacked-out claim by a source of dubious accuracy. I am BTSing it, however, and I hope that will be adequate. Oo yeah I just dropped in. Everyone seemed to be sleeping! I saw a slumbering Greyman, I think, and other such luminaries. I suppose it would come in handy for Nom Anor when we get started. Good call ;) Harrar 15:03, 29 June 2008 (UTC)

Senate Hall thread to archive

Pardon me if you felt that I was re-firing up a discussion on the matter of keeping mundane articles. I'm just passionate as a hyperinclusionist and wanted the users to realize the importance of little articles. Besides it was only two days and I can't see how we'd be archiving a thread that soon. -- Riffsyphon1024 10:36, 3 July 2008 (UTC)

Coleman Trebor

Here is a translation of his Fact Files. I did this very quickly, so if anything's not clear, please let me know:

Source: Translated from The Official Star Wars Fact File 106 (German Edition)

"One Jedi equals a hundred Geonosians."

COLEMAN TREBOR

Species: Vurk
Height: 2.13 meters
Homeworld: Sembla
Affiliation: Jedi
Weapon: Lightsaber (green blade)

Councilor Coleman Trebor knew how to successfully combine the peaceful art of negotiation with his lightsaber skills.

Old School

Jedi Master Coleman Trebor came from the days when superior skill and humble behaviour defined a Jedi. Everybody knew the over two meter tall Vurk with the dark eyes and the long crest on top of his head: Thanks to him, many larger disputes between important planets were solved peacefully.

Celebrity

After the death of Yarael Poof, Coleman Trebor became a member of the Jedi High Council. He was chosen as a replacement for Yarael, because he was known to be in touch with several different groups all over the galaxy and effortlessly came up with peaceful solutions for grave conflicts. The Jedi was so skilled in dealing with various species that the High Council often sent him to social events as a spokesbeing of the Order: The contemplative, intelligent and insightful Coleman represented everything the citizens of the galaxy expected of a Jedi.
This was quite an accomplishment for the Vurk, as his reptilian species was widely known as a people of primitive nomads who lived on a volcanic planet of evershifting continents.

Time to fight

Being a diplomat, he was not as skilled in fighting as a warrior. He never hesitated to draw his lightsaber when the situation required it, however, and proved to be a cunning fighter.
His fighting abilities were put to the test during the Battle of Geonosis. As a member of the 200 Jedi who came to rescue Anakin Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi and Padmé Amidala from the hands of Count Dooku, Coleman fought bravely through endless hordes of Geonosian warriors and heavy armed battle droids.

Miscalculation

During the fighting, the Vurk found an opportunity to stop the Separatist movement with one strike. Their leader, the rouge Jedi Count Dooku, was standing high above on a balcony watching the slaughter, not noticing Coleman’s advance. The Vurk used his Force powers to conceal himself and sneaked closer to Dooku. He finally jumped up to the balcony and lunged out for a deadly strike.
Unfortunately, he completely underestimated the man standing next to Dooku: He opened his fire and the Vurk wasn’t able to deflect the precise laser bolts with his lightsaber. While Coleman’s dead body plunged down into the arena, Jango Fett shoved his blaster back into his holster and added another dead Jedi to his list.

Re: Xarran

I was driven by nostalgia for a less complicated Boba Fett, I must admit! Yup, I'm working from my battered copy of Tales of the Empire, and was unaware of any other information. Does that mean I should put the Tales of the Empire version in the Appearances section too?

If you could transcribe it, that'd be great—I'll owe you one. I'm gonna try and complete him tonight. And soon we need to discuss Nom Anor!

Harrar

  • Excellent, thanks a bunch dude. I'm transcribing it as I write this! I reckon I can nominate him tomorrow. I go away on the 22nd August, so it looks like 7th to the 16th could be prime time. We can lay out the skeleton of the article at some point and assign, and I'll work on those sections whenever, starting from beginning of August. It's gonna be a fine FA, I can see it.

Thanks again for the Xarran info XD

NEGTC

Hello. I'm the new director of WookieeProject: The New Essential Guide to Characters, and I'm trying to improve our output. Our new main focus is Lando Calrissian. He's been a focus of ours in the past, but we've never quite finished work on his article. Let's work together, add information from the remaining sources and get it on the FAN page ASAP. See Forum:Lando Calrissian for a list of sources that still need more information added from them. MTFBWY, and let's get Lando finished and ready for FA! Gara Petothel

Thanks for reading my Andoorni Hui nom. I just finished a long but (I think) good one for Gara Petothel and would love it if you'd give it a read, whenever you get a chance.

I also have a Groznik nom out there, if you want a shorter one first. lol.

Thanks again! --Colinmcev 23:04, 26 July 2008 (UTC)

RE: Nomination

      • Despite my personal desires to respond in a similar fashion to your earlier comments, I will attempt to be polite as I re-phrase for you what I summed up earlier on the nominations page.
  • 1. The article is well written and very detailed.
  • 2. At least from my eyes the article is unbiased (I haven’t seen any comments that differ)
  • 3. It is well sourced
  • 4. I have seen nothing to indicate that it does not follow the manual of style or any of the others listed in item #4
  • 5. It is not the target of any ongoing edit wars
  • 6. It is not currently tagged
  • 7. It has a good summary that is not to long (considering the amount of data to cover)
  • 8. It currently has 0 red links in it
  • 9. It has significant amounts of info from all major appearances (and to my knowledge all minor as well)
  • 10. It has not (to my knowledge) been on the main page before
  • 11. It has been completely referenced
  • 12. Images and quotes are sourced
  • 13. It has an acceptable amount of quotes
  • 14 It includes a "personalities and traits" section
  • 15. It includes a "powers and abilities" section
  • 16. It includes a reasonable number of very good quality images
  • 17. I am not sure of but have heard nothing to indicate it has not
  • 18. It is certainly more than 1000 words long in the main article itself.

RE:RE

I apologize, I was angered by what I felt was a rude comment and was not thinking with as clear of judgment, on number 17 I really did not know I was simply trying to put that out of the 18 guidelines I felt that the article passed all the ones that I had some control over. I posted it on your page as well as the other because I thought that since you are an inquisitor that it might be important for you to learn why I felt the article did deserve "Featured" status, and I just wanted to make sure that if it was important for you to find out my reasons that you did. Again I want to apologize for my own rude actions.Ryan Fett (For Mandalore!)20px 14:03, 28 July 2008 (UTC)

A Pic's Not Evidence Enough?

That pic of the seasick Rodian from the motion sickness article was cropped from a larger panel in the first issue of Crossbones. The larger panel had Jannik, his clansmen (including the sickly-looking Rodian holding his belly), Lorelei, Nym, etc. on the deck of a ship on the waters of Maramere. Most of the Rodians were just milling about, 'cept that one was leaning over the deck railing and he sure as heck looks like he's about to lose his lunch into the rolling sea. No two ways about it, he definetly looks seasick. Seasickness is motion sickness. So, looking a lil green around the gills on a ship at sea isn't enough evidence of motion sickness? I thought a picture was worth a thousand words. =/ Trak Nar Ramble on 03:51, 29 July 2008 (UTC)

  • Yep, that works. Thanks. ^^ The removal of what I thought best illustrated motion sickness just struck me as a bit odd, and I attributed it to perhaps being unaware of what else was going on in the entire panel. Trak Nar Ramble on 03:39, 30 July 2008 (UTC)

Sorry admiral,I didnt know that making truthful analogies were against the rules. With all due respect, we do have the freedom of speech. it says so under Article 19 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. we have the right to voice our opinions without being in fear of punishment. You do not see Rev. wright in jail for hating the USA. Im not trying to be rude. im just stating the obvious. admin should be nice, like the leaders of our country. looking out for what is best for us. The government doesnt spend 24 hours a day loking for ways to get us locked up in jail. Thanks for telling me that, and once again i am sorry. JediBob 20:28, 1 August 2008 (UTC)
