The University of Rudrig was a university that shared its name with Rudrig.[1] Thanks to loans taken out by her mother,[2] the geological academic Lyra Erso studied at the university[1] in 30 BBY.[3] Erso excelled at the institution[4] and made friends with the researcher Nari Sable while there.[2]
At some point after the Battle of Yavin in 0 ABY,[5] the criminal archaeologist Doctor Chelli Lona Aphra had the University of Rudrig Committee for Historic Preservation listed in the accreditations section of her Imperial Institute for Archaeological Exploitation document for Thule in the Esstran sector.[6]
Behind the scenes
In the current Star Wars canon, the University of Rudrig was first mentioned in the 2016 reference book Star Wars: Rogue One: The Ultimate Visual Guide, which was written by Pablo Hidalgo.[1] The university originated in the Star Wars Legends continuity, where it appeared in Brian Daley's 1980 novel, Han Solo and the Lost Legacy.[7]
