- "The bearer of this certificate has limited clearance to access sites of historical interest to the Empire, pursuant to bylaws 22.750-23.018 of the Harvester Accords"
- ―An Imperial Institute for Archaeological Exploitation certificate
The Imperial Institute for Archaeological Exploitation, abbreviated as IIAE, was an institution of the Galactic Empire that issued certificates to accredited archaeologists. The certificates granted limited access to specified sites of historical importance to the Empire in accordance with bylaws 22.750-23.018 of the Harvester Accords. Doctor Chelli Aphra possessed one such certificate that gave her access to Thule,[1] an Outer Rim Territories planet associated with the Sith tradition of Force-users,[2] with the archaeologist eventually including the document in an entry of the book known as the Smuggler's Guide[1] at some point between 0 ABY and 5 ABY.[3]
Behind the scenes
The Imperial Institute for Archaeological Exploitation was mentioned in Daniel Wallace's 2018 reference book Star Wars: Smuggler's Guide.[1]
