A type of fine, whitish stone could be found on an archipelago continent on the Core Worlds planet Alderaan. By the time of the Republic Era, the stone was often used as gravel on Alderaan. However, members of the Rodian species regarded the substance as a precious gemstone, as the wavelengths it gave off made the stone seem iridescent and glittering.[1]
In 40 BBY,[2] jewel thieves Pax Maripher and Rahara Wick took a load of the whitish stone from Alderaan's continent and stored it in their Gozanti-class cruiser, the Meryx, intending to eventually sell it on[1] the Outer Rim planet[3] Rodia after a few weeks had passed. After their endeavor, the pair enabled the Meryx's scanner-blocking field to depart the world undetected.[1]
Behind the scenes
The whitish stone was mentioned in Master & Apprentice, a 2019 novel written by Claudia Gray.[1]
