An archipelago continent was located on the Core Worlds planet Alderaan. The continent was carpeted in a layer of whitish stone that was often used as gravel on the world during the Republic Era. By that time, the stone was considered a precious gemstone by the Rodian species due to the wavelengths it evoked.[2]

In 40 BBY,[3] gemstone thieves Rahara Wick and Pax Maripher visited the Alderaan continent to smuggle a load of the stone off-world to[2] the Outer Rim planet[4] Rodia aboard their Gozanti-class cruiser, the Meryx. After departing, the pair reflected on the stone they had taken from the area.[2] At some point by 0 BBY, the continent had been destroyed when the rest of Alderaan was annihilated[1] by the Galactic Empire's Death Star battle station.[5]

Behind the scenes

The archipelago continent was mentioned in Master & Apprentice, a 2019 novel written by Claudia Gray.[2]
