- Ty Yorrick: "And where is it now?"
- Tapel: "Returned to its lair on Temple Peak."
- Ty Yorrick: "Temple?"
- Layton Wyke: "This very mountain. I named it myself after a temple back home on Naratar."
- ―Ty Yorrick, the Wyke Town resident Tapel, and Layton Wyke discuss the Greta and the naming of Temple Peak[1]
A temple was located on[1] the Mid Rim[2] astronomical object Naratar and was known to Naratar native Layton Wyke. After[1] he[3] had set up Wyke Town on the Galactic Frontier[1] planet[3] Loreth[1] by 231 BBY,[4] Wyke named a mountain on Loreth, Temple Peak, after the temple on Naratar.[1]
That year,[4] Wyke mentioned his naming of the mountain after the temple to the monster hunter Ty Yorrick. As Yorrick made her way up the mountain after being hired by Wyke to kill a[1] Greta,[3] her protocol droid KL-03[5] attempted to inform her that according to records there were no mentions of Jedi temples on Naratar, but her signal broke up and the message was cut off.[1]
Behind the scenes
The temple was mentioned in the first issue of the 2021 comic miniseries Star Wars: The High Republic Adventures — The Monster of Temple Peak, released as part of the Star Wars: The High Republic multimedia project's[1] Phase I. The issue was written by Cavan Scott and published by IDW Publishing on August 11, 2021.[6]
