- "Here's what we think about your evacuation!"
- ―The red-skinned Nihil, as they and their colleagues began firing on a group of Jedi Padawans
An alien served as a member of the Nihil marauders, within the crew of Eye of the Nihil Marchion Ro's ship, the Gaze Electric. In 232 BBY, they helped evacuate Elder Tromak from the planet Trymant IV when it was threatened by an Emergence of the Great Hyperspace Disaster. Under Ro's orders, the alien fought against the Jedi trying to commandeer the Nihil's Spider Cruiser Squall Spider, not wanting to let their vessel be used for evacuating civilians. Later that year, the alien fought alongside Ro's Nihil in a battle on the junk moon Quantxi.
Biography
- "Ah good—we have the Jedi right where we want them: surrounded. Now…kill them all!"
- ―Marchion Ro's orders to the alien and other Nihil
An alien member of the Nihil marauders lived during the High Republic Era. At some point, Eye of the Nihil Marchion Ro drastically reduced the crew on his ship, the Gaze Electric, only leaving a small group,[2] including the alien.[1] In 232 BBY, Ro orchestrated a collision between the Byne Guild freighter Legacy Run and an obstacle that resulted in the Great Hyperspace Disaster, which spurred Emergences—pieces of hyperspace debris—emerging from space and impacting celestial bodies throughout the galaxy.[3] After being informed one such Emergence would threaten several locations in the Trymant system,[2] Ro resolved to kidnap Elder Tromak off the planet Trymant IV before its destruction, due to his knowledge of where to find part of an ancient relic the Eye sought.[4] Ro and several other Nihil,[2] including the alien, used[1] the Spider Cruiser[5] Squall Spider to travel to the planet's surface.[1]
The Nihil (fourth from right) helped prevent civilians from escaping aboard the Squall Spider, due to Marchion Ro's orders of only rescuing Tromak.
As flaming chunks of debris began raining down on Bralanak City, the alien and several other Nihil disembarked the cruiser, wielding their blaster rifles. Tromak met the group, intending to flee Trymant IV aboard the Squall Spider willingly, standing next to the alien Nihil. When the young Disciples Krix Kamerat and Zeen Mrala tried to leave with Tromak, an orange-skinned Nihil rebuffed them as the red-skinned Nihil moved behind their orange-skinned colleague. Moments after, a group of Jedi Padawans led by Padawan Lula Talisola asked the Nihil to borrow their Spider Cruiser to evacuate Bralanak City's civilians.[1]
After declining, the Nihil began firing on the Padawans as Kamerat and Mrala dived out of the way, starting a skirmish. Amidst the firefight, Ro lowered the Squall Spider's boarding ramp and commanded his Nihil to kill all of the Jedi,[1] spurring the alien to fight against the Padawans and Jedi Masters Yoda and Torban Buck. Eventually, the Spider Cruiser fled Trymant IV, escaping the Jedi Vector blockade in the planet's skies.[5] Later the same year,[6] the alien fought alongside Ro's Nihil in a battle on the junk moon Quantxi against several Jedi and their allies as the latter tried to prevent the Nihil from massacring the moon's native Junk Mavens.[7]
Personality and traits
The Nihil was willing to follow orders even in dangerous situations, helping to evacuate Tromak per Ro's orders. They, along with their fellow Nihil, prevented Jedi Padawans from using the Squall Spider,[1] willing to follow Ro's orders to kill the group of Jedi.[5] The Nihil was a humanoid alien with red skin and black tattoos on one arm.[1]
Skills and abilities
The Nihil was able to wield a blaster rifle and engage in close-quarters combat with the Jedi.[1]
Equipment
While on Trymant IV, the Nihil wore a green shirt, lime-colored vest, and brown pants. They also donned spiked grey shoulder pads and wrist cufflets and a breath mask featuring multiple straps, spikes along the side, and gaps for their trunk and other head appendages. The Nihil also carried weaponry on their belt, along with a large-barreled blaster rifle.[1]

The Nihil debuted in the first issue of the 2021 comic series Star Wars: The High Republic Adventures,[1] released as part of the Star Wars: The High Republic multimedia project's Phase I. The issue was written by Daniel José Older, illustrated by Harvey Tolibao, and published by IDW Publishing on February 3, 2021.[8] Panels featuring the Nihil were included in an uncolored preview of The High Republic Adventures 1 released in The High Republic Free Digital Sampler[9] on December 12, 2020.[10]
