- "Okay here we go. Daily special. There, there, nice and tasty."
- ―Fry cook
There was a pale noodle dish with broth found on Borgo Prime during the New Republic Era. The dish could be topped with the innards of a fried bug cracked over it.[1]
After arriving at Port Borgo[1] around 9 ABY[2] the human Wim and[1] Myykian[3] Neel each ordered a bowl of the noodles from a fry cook, having noticed an Onodone patron was having this particular dish. The cook initially charged them two credits, but after Wim tried to pay the cook with Old Republic credits, the cook instead insisted that premium toppings cost five credits extra. In the end, neither of the boys ate their helpings. Having to run away quickly, Wim uphanded his helping so that it landed right on a grill, causing it to flame up. This way, the young off-worlders were free to escape.[1]
Behind the scenes
The dish first appeared in "Way, Way Out Past the Barrier,"[1] the second episode of the Disney+ series Star Wars: Skeleton Crew, which aired on December 2, 2024.[4]
Inspired out of universe dish
On December 4, 2024 an out of universe recipe, Port Borgo Noodles, by Jenn Fujikawa inspired by the noodles from the shown was posted to StarWars.com. The recipe uses egg noodles, sesame oil, water, red cabbage, rice noodles, lime, chicken broth, dashi powder, soy sauce, mirin and miso for the noodles and broth. For the topping, meant to represent the crustacean's innards the recipe uses lobster, enoki mushrooms, spinach, onion, chili oil and black sesame seeds.[5]

- ↑ Star Wars: Timelines dates the events of "Chapter 1: The Mandalorian" of The Mandalorian Season One to 9 ABY. In addition,
"A Certain Point of View" — Star Wars Insider 228 also dates "Part Seven: Dreams and Madness" to nine years after the events of Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope, which corresponds to 9 ABY per Timelines. "Part Seven: Dreams and Madness" takes place after the conflict on Mandalore, which is the main event depicted in "Chapter 23: The Spies" and "Chapter 24: The Return," the final two episodes of The Mandalorian Season Three. Therefore, Seasons One through Three of Star Wars: The Mandalorian must all be set in 9 ABY as well.
SWCA 2022: 20 Highlights from Lucasfilm's Studio Showcase on StarWars.com (backup link) states that Star Wars: Skeleton Crew takes place in the same timeframe as Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Star Wars: Ahsoka—the latter of which can also be dated to 9 ABY following the reasoning here. As such, Skeleton Crew must take place around 9 ABY as well.
