A bipedal species lived in the galaxy during the Imperial Era. A species of tall, thin-necked beings, at least one member resided in a mining village on Mapuzo[2] in 9 BBY,[3] while another was present on the Spur Orbiting Market[1] in 3 ABY.[4] That individual was on the space station during an altercation between an Arcona bounty hunter and the cyborg Beilert Valance.[1]

Behind the scenes

"I love trying to find ways of pushing the form and hiding the performer. I squeezed Aiden Cook [sic] into the cages of Bobbajo on The Force Awakens and this time he's hidden in the load on this long-necked alien's shoulder."
―Jake Lunt Davies[5]

The species was originally designed by artist Jake Lunt Davies for the 2019 film Star Wars: Episode IX The Rise of Skywalker, the final film of the sequel trilogy. Davies desired to push the form of creature design with this species, creating a concept that would hide the performer in the props carried on the creature's back. To operate the head, Davies envisioned the performer sticking their arm straight up through the costume's neck.[5]

The design made it to the production phase of the film, with performer Aidan Cook portraying the individual on set.[5] Ultimately, however, the character was cut from the final film.[6] A member of the species was later included in the background of a panel of the sixth issue of the 2020 comic book Star Wars: Bounty Hunters, illustrated by Paolo Villanelli.[1]

The costume eventually made its live action debut in the third episode of Obi-Wan Kenobi, a 2022 Disney+ limited series.[2] The creature was performed by Morgana Ignis. During breaks while shooting, Ignis broke into impromptu dance numbers while in-costume, eliciting laughter and applause from lead actor Ewan McGregor.[7]
