Ordo: "Captain! Crew! Orders from the Eye himself! We need to set a new course!"
Baheeoo: "Head for Trymant IV! Make it snappy!"
The captain: "Oh. Very well. Crew, enter the coordinates and make the jump. Why didn't you just tell us over the comms?"
―Ordo, Baheeoo, and the captain[1]

A Pantoran worked as the captain of the Gaze Electric—the flagship of Eye of the Nihil Marchion Ro—during the High Republic Era. In 232 BBY, after receiving orders from Ro, they ordered the vessel's crew to set course for the planet Trymant IV.

Biography

"Together we are about to embark on a secret journey that will grant us incredible powers. Powers that will shatter the Republic and their Jedi dogs and change the fate of the entire galaxy! Now, onward to Trymant, where our destiny awaits!"
―Marchion Ro, to the captain and the rest of the Gaze Electric's crew[1]

A Pantoran Nihil marauder served as the captain of the Gaze Electric—the flagship of Eye of the Nihil Marchion Ro—during the High Republic Era, as one of a small group of Nihil permitted aboard.[1] In 232 BBY, Ro orchestrated a collision between the Byne Guild freighter Legacy Run and an obstacle that resulted in the Great Hyperspace Disaster, which spurred Emergences—pieces of hyperspace debris—emerging from space and impacting celestial bodies throughout the galaxy.[2]

On the bridge, Baheeoo and Ordo relayed Marchion Ro's order to travel to Trymant IV to the captain.

On the bridge, Baheeoo and Ordo relayed Marchion Ro's order to travel to Trymant IV to the captain.

After being informed one such Emergence would threaten several locations in the Trymant system, the Storm Zagyar sent the Nihil Baheeoo, Garank, and Ordo to alert the captain to make immediate plans to travel to the planet Trymant IV per Ro's orders. The three Nihil rushed toward the bridge to pass on the command, unable to relay the order via comms due to them not working. Ultimately, only Baheeoo and Ordo made it to the bridge alive, rushing in to inform the captain to set a new course. The Pantoran was surprised at their arrival and ordered the crew to enter Trymant IV's coordinates.[1]

The captain was confused why Baheeoo and Ordo had not contacted the bridge via comm, though another Nihil indicated that the Nihil Grik had only then finished fixing the ship's communications. As the Gaze Electric jumped to hyperspace, the Nihil on the bridge listened to an incoming holographic message from Ro, who promised the Nihil would gain incredible powers over the Galactic Republic and their destiny awaited at their next destination.[1]

Personality and traits

The Pantoran had blue skin with a white tattoo on one of their cheeks and a blue mustache.[1]

Equipment

While on the Gaze Electric, the Nihil wore a purple and gold armored uniform that featured several panels. They also wore a matching helmet and gloves, a patterned gold and black sash around their midsection, black boots, and gold and black pants with vertical stripes.[1]

Behind the scenes

The captain first appeared in "Tales of Villainy: The Gaze Electric," a secondary comic story published in the sixth issue of the 2020 Star Wars Adventures anthology comic-book series. The story was written by Daniel José Older, illustrated by Nick Brokenshire, and published by IDW Publishing[1] on July 7, 2021.[3] When designing the color scheme for the comic story, Brokenshire aimed to reference the style of Star Wars comics from the 1970s and 1980s, when there was limited color technology and panels still needed to visually pop. As such, the Gaze Electric and its crew—including the captain—were colored in this style, though the artist noted that the colors may not necessarily be meant to reflect reality.[4]
