An alien was a Nihil marauder who worked on the crew of the Gaze Electric—the flagship of Eye of the Nihil Marchion Ro—during the High Republic Era. In 232 BBY, they were present on the Gaze Electric's bridge when orders from Ro came in to change course to the planet Trymant IV.

Biography

An alien Nihil marauder served as crew member on the Gaze Electric—the flagship of Eye of the Nihil Marchion Ro—during the High Republic Era. They were one of a select few Nihil permitted aboard and worked under a captain.^[1] In 232 BBY, Ro orchestrated a collision between the Byne Guild freighter Legacy Run and an obstacle that resulted in the Great Hyperspace Disaster, which spurred Emergences—pieces of hyperspace debris—emerging from space and impacting celestial bodies throughout the galaxy.^[2]

After being informed one such Emergence would threaten several locations in the Trymant system, Ro decided to travel to the planet Trymant IV. The Nihil Baheeoo,Garank, and Ordo rushed toward the bridge to pass on the command, unable to relay the order via comms due to them not working. Ultimately, only Baheeoo and Ordo made it to the bridge alive, rushing in to inform the Gaze Electric's captain to set a new course. After the captain told the crew to input Trymant IV's coordinates and jump to hyperspace, the alien Nihil told Baheeoo and Ordo that the Nihil Grik had just finished fixing the comms. As the Gaze Electric entered hyperspace, the alien indicated to the Nihil on the bridge that they had an incoming holographic message from Ro. The nearby Nihil paused to listen, hearing their leader promise them that the Nihil would gain incredible powers over the Galactic Republic and their destiny awaited at their next destination.^[1]

Personality and traits

The humanoid alien had lime green-colored skin that had paler green markings.^[1]

Equipment

While on the Gaze Electric, the Nihil wore a black helmet featuring a square gold outline on the top and a silver-colored covering on the side of their head.^[1]

Behind the scenes

The Nihil appeared in "Tales of Villainy: The Gaze Electric," a secondary comic story published in the sixth issue of the 2020 Star Wars Adventures anthology comic-book series. The story was written by Daniel José Older, illustrated by Nick Brokenshire, and published by IDW Publishing^[1] on July 7, 2021.^[3] When designing the color scheme for the comic story, Brokenshire aimed to reference the style of Star Wars comics from the 1970s and 1980s, when there was limited color technology and panels still needed to visually pop. As such, the Gaze Electric and its crew^[4]—including the alien^[1]—were colored in this style, though the artist noted that the colors may not necessarily be meant to reflect reality.^[4]
