This species was a sentient species that was present on the Forest Moon of Endor.[1]
Biology and appearance
This species was distinguished by their insectoid appearance, with six compound limbs, red, crescent-shaped markings on the front of both their abdomen and thorax, protruding mandibles, large green eyes with multiple black pupils, and red, ribbon-like hair on the top of their heads.[1]
Species in the galaxy
Shortly after the Battle of Endor in 4 ABY, word spread across Endor that members of the Bright Tree tribe of Ewoks, including the Ewok Wicket Wystri Warrick, and their Yuzzum neighbors had seen off a group of Imperials who had returned to Endor seeking an Imperial weapons cache. This resulted in many of the tribe's neighbors visiting Bright Tree Village to meet the Ewoks and share stories with them while working together to decide the forest's future. At least one member of this insectoid species attended, wearing a tall golden crown. They stood in the village, conversing with a felinoid of similar stature.[1]
Behind the scenes
A Titterbug in Star Wars Legends.
In the current Star Wars canon, the species first appeared in the fourth issue of the Star Wars: Ewoks comic book series, written by Steve Orlando, illustrated by Laura Braga and Álvaro López,[1] and published by Marvel Comics on January 29, 2025.[2]
The species originated in the Star Wars Legends continuity, where they were named Titterbugs and appeared in "Princess Latara,"[3] the fourth episode of the second season of the Ewoks animated series, which first aired on September 20, 1986.[4] The appearance of the individual in the Ewoks comic[1] matches that of the Titterbug princess who appeared in "Princess Latara."[3]
