Tril Jindrax was a human technician who served as a Lieutenant Commander for the Imperial Engineering Corps aboard the second Death Star[1] in 4 ABY.[2] After Moff Tiaan Jerjerrod promised to Sith Lord Darth Vader that Death Star II personnel would double their efforts to expedite completion of the station, Jindrax became concerned that the unreasonable expectations would jeopardize his station and well-being.[1]
Jindrax and fellow technician Anna Param observed Sith relics being transported from Emperor Palpatine's shuttle by his acolytes. The lieutenant commander, having heard rumors of a powerful ring that could raise the dead within the collection, seized an opportunity to fraternize with an acolyte, distracting her enough to steal the ring. Jindrax went to the Death Star's morgue, where the bodies of many technicians who died in the construction efforts were kept. Against Param's warnings, Jindrax used the ring to reanimate the bodies and put them to work. Although Jindrax's drones worked effectively, their decaying odor and aggression led to a living technician, Takk, being attacked and killed. Jindrax was unbothered, simply reanimating Takk to join the horde.[1]
Later, Param pleaded for Jindrax to put a stop to the immoral and irresponsible method, especially as it involved stealing from the Emperor. When she threatened to expose Jindrax to Jerjerrod or Vader, the lieutenant commander gleefully sent his army of the dead to murder her.[1]
Jindrax quickly lost control of the undead in spite of the ring's effects, requiring Darth Vader to incapacitate many of them and rescue Jindrax. Vader took the ring from Jindrax, and let the horde resume their attack on the technician before setting them back to work.[1]
