- "Not recommended for control of: flesh-eating daggerworms (Trenwyth), brain crawlers (Cheelit), Maxilan's explosive bloatworm (Lanteeb)."
- ―Instruction leaflet for Happy-Bore Medicated Dewormer included in Rey's survival guide
Trenwyth was a world[3] located in the Trenwyth system of the Outer Rim Territories' Stensen sector in square I-16 of the Standard Galactic Grid.[1] It was considered local to the moon Endor, although due to the moon's position[3] in the Moddell sector's Endor system,[4] near the Unknown Regions and far from any major hyperspace routes, the inhabitants of Trenwyth mostly ignored it.[3]
Trenwyth was the homeworld of flesh-eating daggerworms, a type of parasitic worm that could infest the domesticated creatures known as happabores, which were found on planets throughout the Western Reaches. The world was mentioned alongside the worms on the instructions for Galacti-Stok's Happy-Bore Medicated Dewormer, which recommended against using the dewormer on the daggerworms.[2]
After acquiring a copy of these instructions, the scavenger Rey included it in a survival guide that[2] she[5] compiled[2] by 34 ABY.[6] That year,[7] Trenwyth's position was marked on several screens aboard Chandrila Star Line's Star Cruiser Halcyon that displayed a partial map of the galaxy.[8]
Behind the scenes
Trenwyth originated in the Star Wars 103.
In the current Star Wars canon, Trenwyth was first mentioned in "Sentient Species of Endor," an article[3] written by Mark Newbold[9] in the "Guide to the Galaxy" department of the thirty-eighth issue of De Agostini's Star Wars: Build the Millennium Falcon magazine series,[3] which was published around September 23, 2015.[10] Trenwyth first appeared on several maps viewable in Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser, an immersive two-day roleplaying experience at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida[8] that opened to the public on March 1, 2022[11] and was launched for the final time on September 28, 2023.[12]
The world originated in the Star Wars Legends continuity, where it first appeared in the one-hundred-and-third issue of Marvel Comics 1977 Star Wars comic book run, which was written by Mary Jo Duffy, illustrated by Cynthia Martin,[13] and published on October 15, 1985.[14]
