- "Look, Your Serene Highness. It looks as if one or two other ships are already coming to help. There's a transport—a big one, a Consular-class cruiser—"
"The Jedi!" - ―A technician and Princess Fanry, in the throne room
The throne room in the royal palace of the Pijali monarchy was located on the Inner Rim planet Pijal. In 40 BBY, Princess Fanry held court in the room with Lord Regent Rael Averross, Minister Orth, and Czerka Sector Supervisor Meritt Col. Not long after a strike on a soulcraft vessel, the princess formally welcomed the Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn and his Padawan, Obi-Wan Kenobi, who had helped rescue the craft. The day before her coronation, Fanry was guarded by Kenobi as she sat on her throne.
Description
The throne room of the Pijali monarchy's royal palace was located on the Inner Rim planet Pijal. The space had pink-tinted windows decorated with stone scrollwork, a tiled floor, and several chairs surrounding a throne. The palace's Grand Hall could be accessed through a set of nearby doors.[1]
History
- "This is Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn and his Padawan, Obi-Wan Kenobi. Present yourselves to them for introductions."
- ―Princess Fanry to her court, in the throne room
In 40 BBY,[2] the Pijali Princess Fanry held court in the room alongside Lord Regent Rael Averross, Minister Orth, and Czerka Sector Supervisor Meritt Col. After Fanry suggested that Pijal could host a future galactic leaders summit, she and Averross discussed the plausibility of the idea, with the pair eventually concluding that the upcoming signing of the Governance Treaty initiative took precedence. Following their talk, the princess, Averross, and her courtiers prepared to leave the throne room and greet Czerka Corporation representatives. However, after being informed by a guard of an explosion destroying a Czerka factory, the group rushed to the palace's Grand Hall to view recordings of the incident.[1]
Qui-Gon Jinn and Obi-Wan Kenobi (pictured) were formally welcomed to Pijal in the throne room.
Later, a soulcraft starship being used by Pijali citizens for religious worship was struck with a plasma bomb set by blackguards, a group of Pijali soldiers secretly operating under Fanry's orders to disrupt the Governance Treaty's signing. Fanry watched footage of the ailing soulcraft as the event unfolded and struggled to hold back tears, successfully masking that her blackguards had conducted the strike. She briefly conversed with her royal guard captain, Deren, about the strike, though she was swiftly informed by a technician that the Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn and his Padawan, Obi-Wan Kenobi, had arrived in a Consular-class cruiser and could provide aid. Ultimately, the soulcraft's plasma fire was doused, and the vessel was brought aboard the Czerka Corporation cruiser Leverage.[1]
After Jinn and Kenobi disembarked on Pijal, Fanry formally greeted them in the throne room and asked her court to present themselves for introductions. Then, the group discussed the Opposition dissident group that had been protesting the Governance Treaty, whom they believed were responsible for the series of attacks that blackguards had actually carried out. Though the Pijali present refused to cancel the upcoming Grand Hunt event—despite the potential threat to Fanry's safety—due to its importance, the Jedi pledged to investigate the Opposition nonetheless as their mission mandated. The day before Fanry's planned coronation, Kenobi helped guard the princess in the throne room, showing her and her court the inner workings of his lightsaber and discussing how lightsabers' blades acquired their color. When Fanry's violent coronation was ultimately deemed illegal by the Galactic Republic, she abdicated the throne as queen, resulting in the democratic Assembly government being formed afterward to dissolve the Pijali monarchy permanently.[1]
