The Mother's cottage was the residence of the leader known as The Mother within the Path of the Open Hand compound on the planet Dalna. It had been built by a Weequay who had died of a wasting illness. The Mother had added a tunnel that led into the Path's underground cavern system, and the cottage mainly served as an entrance to her listening chamber and the caverns beyond. Outside the cottage were flower and vegetable gardens that seemed to always be lush, which Path members attributed to The Mother's connection to the Force.[1]
