A wasting disease, also known as a wasting illness, was a disease that could affect Nautolans and Weequays.[1] By 385 BBY,[2] a Weequay member of the Path of the Open Hand cult had died as a result of a wasting disease. A few years before[1] 382 BBY,[2] the Nautolan Path member Opari Plouth was struck down by a wasting disease, but survived because of medicine provided to her by Elecia Zeveron, the Path's leader.[3]
