A species of humanoid beings resided on the forested planet Bri'n. Some members of the species held great value in the many trees that covered the world, but a faction known as the Metal Clan desired to destroy the venerated plants. During the Republic Era, the Clan conspired against Th'er, the Priestess of Wood, in order to achieve their goal. According to the laws of their people, however, the Metal Clan could not harm the trees of Bri'n without either the Priestess' permission or her blood. When negotiations between the factions turned violent, Th'er was escorted offworld to Coruscant, where Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn convinced her to seek aid from members of the galactic community.[1]
