Teta was a Human male duke who resided on the planet Coruscant. Through elicit medication and gray-market organ transplants,[1] he[2] was able to live to around 300 years of age. Despite that, Teta made it a point to appear at public events with a beautiful companion. Near the end of the Clone Wars, the duke attended shows at the Galaxies Opera House[1] located in the Uscru Entertainment District[3] of Coruscant.[1] He was often seen in the of company[2] his consort,[4] Twi'lek socialite Koyi Mateil, despite the differences in the two's ages. Mateil, however, was scheming to take Teta's riches should the duke die.[2]

In 19 BBY,[5] the duke walked up the stairs of the Galaxies Opera House with Mateil as the Jedi Anakin Skywalker ran up the stairs past them to meet up with Supreme Chancellor Palpatine inside the house.[6] At the house, he wore a teal and mustard robes with a hat.[7] The duke possessed light skin and brown eyes.[1]

Behind the scenes

Teta first appeared in the prequel trilogy film Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith,[6] which released on May 19, 2005.[8] Concept art of the character was drawn by artist Sang Jun Lee.[9] The opera steps scene that included Teta, who was portrayed by an uncredited extra,[6] was filmed at Shepperton Studios as part of additional photography on August 23, 2004.[10] The character was first identified in the reference book Star Wars Chronicles: The Prequels, written by Stephen J. Sansweet and Pablo Hidalgo[11] and released on October 27, 2005[12]
