The Switchmount system was located in the Gendius sector[1] within the Western Reaches portion[2] of the Mid Rim Territories. Situated in grid square J-17 of the Standard Galactic Grid,[1] it contained Switchmount, a location where the New Republic's 61st Mobile Infantry once unsuccessfully tried to intervene in a conflict between locals.[3]

The Switchmount system was mentioned in "Star Systems of the Galaxy," an appendix published on StarWars.com alongside the Star Wars Galaxy Map.[1] Both works were authored by Jason Fry and released on June 24, 2025.[4]
