Suspended animation

Suspended animation was a state of temporary cessation of the vital functions. It could be achieved through various technologies, such as entropy fields,^[1] stasis fields,^[2] stasis domes,^[3] cybernetic hibernation,^[4] stasis chambers,^[5] or carbon-freezing.^[6] In his personal museum onboard the star yacht First Light, the gangster Dryden Vos kept several rare creatures in suspended animation as trophies.^[1]
