The Southern Underground was a section of the Coruscant Underground. It was located near Coruscant's south pole. Spero lived there. Prior to the Clone Wars, stone mites first appeared here, but were held under control by duracrete slugs and dianogas. The Southern Underground was also the location of a block that contained the Soft Heart Cantina, which burned down.
During the time of the Galactic Empire, beggars dressed in rags were everywhere within it, and it was home to a thriving black market, which presented all manner of illicit offerings.[1]
