Skungy Gungus and the Refractors also called simply The Refractors was a band in the galaxy.[1] In 3 ABY,[3] their song, "If These Sands Could Speak," could be listened to on the jukebox in the Bestine cantina on the planet, Tatooine.[1]
When the band was set to perform at Jabba's Palace on Tatooine for Jabba Desilijic Tiure, the band's drummer Remla Moonis, became nervous and left to go solo. Moonis's manager, Aldic Nelleer, asked the scoundrel Kay Vess to help track him down. Vess was able to find him in Wayfar and convince him to return to the band and perform for Jabba.[1]
However later that year, Vess found a datapad in the Wonto District market which stated that while the performance started out well the band didn't jive together when trying new material which ultimately led to one member being dropped into Jabba's rancor pit.[1]
Behind the scenes
The band was first created for the 2024 Ubisoft video game, Star Wars Outlaws.[1] Their songs, "If These Sands Could Speak" and "Look Up!," were composed by Cody Matthew Johnson for the game and was released with the Songs from the Underworld (Original Music from Star Wars Outlaws) soundtrack.[2]
