- "A drummer going solo? That can't be good."
- ―Kay Vess
Remla Moonis was a Weequay musician.[1] During 3 ABY,[2] he was the drummer for the band Skungy Gungus and the Refractors.[1]
When the band was set to perform at Jabba's Palace on Tatooine for Jabba Desilijic Tiure himself, Moonis became nervous and left to go solo. Moonis's manager, Aldic Nelleer, asked the scoundrel Kay Vess to help track him down. The bartender at the Bestine cantina told Vess that Moonis had asked to perform at the cantina but was rejected. However the bartender did allow Moonis to add his song "Growing Old in Wayfar" to the cantina's Jukebox. When Vess next visited Wayfar, she was able to convince Moonis to return to the band and perform for Jabba.[1]
However later that year, Vess found a datapad in the Mos Eisley Bazaar which stated that while the performance started out well the band didn't jive together when trying new material which ultimately led to one member being dropped into Jabba's rancor pit.[1]
Behind the scenes
Remla Moonis was created for the 2024 Ubisoft video game, Star Wars Outlaws.[1] His song, "Growing Old in Wayfar", was composed by Cody Matthew Johnson for the game and was released with the Songs from the Underworld (Original Music from Star Wars Outlaws) soundtrack.[3]
