Skitterflies were a type of fly.[1] In 228 BBY,[2] Jedi Master Porter Engle pursued the Nihil Minister of Protection Abediah Viess to the world Isolt, intending to end her life. When she inquired about him detonating half of her base on Isolt, Engle mentally considered whether he should ask her a question in return or continue trying to trap her via violence like a skitterfly in a glass box.[1]

Behind the scenes

In the current Star Wars canon, skitterflies were mentioned in the 2024 novel Temptation of the Force, written by Tessa Gratton and published as part of the Star Wars: The High Republic multimedia project's[1] Phase III.[3] Skitterflies originated in the Star Wars Legends continuity, where they were first introduced in Galaxy Guide 12: Aliens — Enemies and Allies, a 1995 sourcebook written for West End Games' Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game.[4]
