Sharalians were a sentient species of owl.[1] They had light skin with tan feathers, blue eyes, and a beak. They had two digits and thumbs on their hands, and five digits on their feet. Sharalians had pointed ears that were emotive.[2]
Behind the scenes
Concept art for Sharalians was created by artist Wayne Lo for "Sphere of Influence,"[1] the fourth episode of Star Wars: The Clone Wars' third season—released on October 1, 2010[3]—though the species was ultimately cut. Its design was based on concept art originally created by Ralph McQuarrie[1]—first pictured in the 1977 concept art book The Star Wars Portfolio[4]—and was first identified as "Sharalian" on the Blu-ray release of The Clone Wars Season Three.[1] The Sharalian in concept art utilized the "Dwarf 2 Alien Build" character model as a base but had a unique head model.[2]
