- "Mother, the Jedi…"
"They've sliced the platform." - ―Sarria and Eurus report to Mother Aniseya
Sarria was a humanoid female witch who served as a scout and warrior in the coven of Mother Aniseya on the planet Brendok during the High Republic Era. In 148 BBY, Sarria observed a lesson that Mother Aniseya taught the young twins Verosha Aniseya and Mae-ho Aniseya in the coven's fortress and then chaperoned the children to their room when the lesson ended.
Later that night, Sarria and the witch Eurus interrupted the twins' Rite of Ascension to warn Mother Aniseya and the others that a group of Jedi had sliced the coven's lift platform. The Jedi then entered the fortress and gained Mother Aniseya's permission to test the twins potential to become Jedi the following day. Sarria and several other scouts then accompanied the twins and Mother Koril to the test, which Verosha passed and Mae-ho failed.
Koril, who hoped to prevent Verosha from leaving with the Jedi, later had the scouts arm themselves. When the Jedi Sol and Torbin arrived at the fortress they were confronted by Koril and Mother Aniseya as Sarria and the other scouts stood on a catwalk overhead with bows ready. After Mae-ho entered the courtyard and cried out for help with a fire she had started, Sol killed Mother Aniseya as he saw her transform into black smoke.
Sarria opened fire on Torbin alongside the other archers as Koril attacked Sol, but after Koril was disarmed she too turned to smoke and Sarria and the archers vanished. Sol and Torbin were then forced to fight their colleague Kelnacca, who had been possessed by the coven, but once Jedi Master Indara freed him from possession many of the witches perished. The Jedi then left Brendok with Verosha.
Biography
Coven security
- "Put down your weapons. No violence."
- ―Mother Aniseya gives an order to Sarria and the warriors
Sarria was a humanoid[2] scout and warrior[3] for an exiled coven of witches that lived in[2] an all-female community[3] in a fortress on the planet Brendok during the High Republic Era.[2] In 148 BBY,[4] Sarria attended a training session for the young twins Verosha Aniseya and Mae-ho Aniseya in the fortress's common room and sat on the room's steps[2] as an observer.[3] During the lesson, the coven's leader, Mother Aniseya, demonstrated the Force and how it was most powerful when used together rather then by an individual. The twins were distracted until Aniseya used the Force to knock them to the ground, with only Mae-ho blocking a second attempt while Verosha hid behind her sister. After Mother Koril admonished Verosha for hiding, both Mothers' attention was drawn by a sound coming from the fortress's power generator in the adjoining space. Mother Aniseya then ordered the twins to their room, and Sarria stood to chaperone the children away as the Mothers investigated the disturbance.[2]
That night, the twins' Rite of Ascension was held in a courtyard at the base of the fortress. After Mae-ho had completed her asscension, Sarria and fellow coven member Eurus entered the courtyard and interrupted proceedings before Verosha could ascend in order to warn Mother Aniseya that a group of Jedi who had been visiting Brendok had sliced[2] the coven's lift platform to gain entry to the fortress.[5] Mother Aniseya ordered the coven to hide the twins and Eurus and others gathered around the children to conceal them as Sarria and several other[2] warriors[3] drew their bows in preparation for the Jedi's arrival. Mother Aniseya ordered Sarria and the others to lower their weapons, which they did just as four Jedi entered the courtyard.[2]
Testing of the twins
- "The scouts will bring Osha to your camp at midday."
"Both girls. Her sister, too." - ―Mother Aniseya and Sol
Sarria stood with a bow lowered as the Jedi spoke with Aniseya, discussing the fact that the coven was training the twins. Although Mother Aniseya initially denied there being any children in the coven, the Jedi called out to the twins and Verosha came forward and then pointed out Mae-ho with Mother Aniseya's permission. The Jedi Sol then offered Verosha his lightsaber to examine and asked if she wished to be tested to become a Jedi. When Verosha responded positively, Mother Aniseya used the Force to effect the Jedi Padawan Torbin's mind and demanded the Jedi leave if they wished him to be released; however, she relented when Verosha begged her to let the Jedi perform the test. Mother Aniseya then told the Jedi to expect the Verosha at their camp the next day, agreeing that Mae-ho would also attend the test when the Jedi demanded it.[2] Sarria and the other warriors then remained on edge[3] as the four outsiders left.[2]
At midday the following day, Sarria and another two scouts accompanied Korril and the twins through a forest to reach the Jedi's camp. Koril, Sarria, and another scout approached the Jedi first, then turned back to look at the twins as Koril ordered Mae-ho to take the test inside the Jedi's ship first. As Mae-ho took the test, Verosha waited outside the ship and noticed the Wookiee Jedi Kelnacca working on a speeder bike. As the child approached the Jedi, Sarria[2] noticed her interest and kept pace with Verosha from a respectful distance.[3] Mae-ho then emerged from the ship, having failed the test based on instruction from Mother Aniseya. Verosha then entered the ship to take the test, but chose to pass the test despite Mother Aniseya's instructions.[2]
Destruction of the coven
- Koril: "Get everyone in the common room. Prepare for battle."
- Aniseya: "What is happening?"
- Sarria: "The Jedi have breached the fortress again."
- ―Koril gives orders to Sarria as Mother Aniseya arrives[5]
The twins then returned to the fortress and Verosha confirmed to Mother Aniseya that she wished to be a Jedi later that night. While Aniseya supported her daughter's wishes, Koril, Mae-ho and other members of the coven opposed letting Verosha leave. After Mae-ho disabled the lift up to the fortress, Koril ordered[5] the scouts[6] to arm themselves. Having learned that Verosha and Mae-ho's birth had been maniuplated through a Force nexus, Sol and Torbin arrived in search of the twins and scaled the fortress's walls to gain entry. Aware of the Jedi's return, Koril ordered Sarria to gather the coven in the common room and prepare for battle. Aniseya then approached the pair and questioned what was happening, so Sarria explained that the Jedi had returned before ordering two other scouts to follow and then departing.[5]
As Sol and Torbin entered the fortress's courtyard, Sarria and the other scouts gathered on a walkway above with their bows ready as Mother Aniseya and Koril confronted the Jedi below. Once the Jedi questioned the twins' origins, Sarria and the other scouts raised their bows prompting Torbin to draw his lightsaber once he noticed. Mae-ho then rushed into the courtyard crying for help, as she had started a fire outside Verosha's room that had grown out of control. As Koril and Torbin both prepared to attack one another, Mother Aniseya cried out and then began[5] morphing her body into black smoke,[6] causing Mae-ho to do the same. Sol then drove his lightsaber into the smoke, killing Mother Aniseya. After Mae-ho mourned her mother and fled, Sarria and the other scouts opened fire on Torbin, who deflected their arrows while Koril attacked Sol.[5]
The fortress was then rocked by explosions caused by the spreading fire, after which Sol disarmed Koril. She then morphed into the same black smoke that Aniseya had, and when Torbin looked to the catwalk, Sarria and the scouts were also gone. Kelnacca then arrived in the courtyard, possessed by the witches, including those in the common room. The Wookiee attacked Sol and Torbin, injuring and incapacitating the Padawan, but was then freed from possession by Indara once she arrived. The ending of the possession killed the witches in the common room who had aided in controlling the Wookiee. Sol then saved Verosha from the fire and the Jedi left Brendok with her,[5] while Mae-ho was presumed dead and left abandoned.[2]

- ―Saskia Allen
It took four hours to apply Sarria's makeup and prosthetics.
Sarria was portrayed by Saskia Allen during the character's first appearance in "Destiny,"[2] the third episode of the television series Star Wars: The Acolyte, which aired June 11, 2024 on Disney+.[8] Prior to the episode's release, the character was revealed in the first trailer for the show, which was released on March 19, 2024.[9] The character's name was not spoken in the episode but appeared in its subtitles and credits.[2] The episode's audio description erroneously describes Sarria as wielding a staff rather than a bow when keeping pace with Verosha.[3] The audio description for the show's seventh episode, "Choice,"[6] which aired on July 10, 2024,[8] erroneously misidentifies Sarria as Koril when the archers first arrive on the fortress's walkway.[6]
Jen Kewley, Megan Thomas, Cara Parry, and Samanta Maslauskaite worked on the character with the character's make-up and prosthetics taking four hours to apply to Allen each day.[7] The tendrils and tattoos match designs from a piece of concept art of the character Qi'ra titled "Kura X3 Version 1A" which was drawn by Luke Fisher for the 2018 film Solo: A Star Wars Story.[10] Allen credits Derek Arnold with getting her the opportunity to work in Star Wars and has described Sarria as the leader of the coven's scouts.[7] Martin Rezard sculpted Sarria's prosthetics.[11]
