- ―Russo-ISC, an SP-4 ISC crime scene analysis droid to Anakin Skywalker and Ahsoka Tano
The SP-4 ISC crime scene analysis droid,[1] also known as the SP-4 ISC,[2] the crime scene analysis droid,[10] the crime scene analyzer droid, or simply the ISC droid, was a modified SP-4 analysis droid utilized by the Jedi Order to assist Jedi investigators and local law enforcement while they were working on a variety of cases, keeping both updated on the evidence they gathered.[2] Towards the end of the Galactic Republic as the dark side of the Force grew stronger, the influence of the Jedi waned, forcing them to utilize increasing numbers of analysis droids to assist in solving crimes;[11] many of which the Jedi could not solve on their own.[10] ISC droids analyzed data from the crime scenes to construct a full timeline of events. During this process, they interviewed witnesses and suspects, comparing the data from their conversations with the crime scenes' reconstruction. They also checked local surveillance, confirming or discarding alibis.[2]
ISC droids were equipped with an optics and scanning visor, which gave them the same magnification and scanning abilities as a JN-66 analysis droid. Full-plate metal coverings were seen on these droids that normally was absent from other analysis droids. This was because the ISC droids did not need to go through the same level of irradiation cleaning as other analysis droids. ISC droids also carried a datapad to help them filter and prioritize the wealth of information coming back to them for analysis.[2]
Notable ISC analysis droids included Russo-ISC, who was a crime scene analysis droid assigned to the Jedi Temple to assist Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker and his Padawan Ahsoka Tano to investigate the bombing of the Jedi Temple hangar.[3] Following the rise of the Galactic Empire, the SP-4 ISC unit was used by the Imperial Security Bureau,[6] and came to be known as the Imperial forensics droid.[12] ZED-6-7 was a prominent SP-4 ISC droid that worked for the Empire.[13]
