Ruoss Minor was a planet[3] located in the Colonies[1] and the Interior's[2] Ruoss Minor system, which was situated in grid square M-9 of the Standard Galactic Grid.[1] It was controlled by the Galactic Empire at some point during the Imperial Era. The world suffered due to a crackdown ordered by Emperor Palpatine, the Empire's leader.[3] In 3 BBY,[4] Viceroy Bail Organa gave his daughter, the Alderaanian Princess Leia Organa, a list of locations in need of humanitarian aid, which included Ruoss Minor.[3]
The princess considered the damage inflicted on Ruoss Minor but felt that the Empire's crackdown had occurred so far in the past that little proof of it being caused by Imperial influences could still be found. Leia eventually chose to instead aid the world Chasmeene with her relief efforts.[3]
