Rock-vultures were a species of carnivorous bird native to the planet Utapau in the Outer Rim Territories. They were one of the few species that inhabited the planet's wind-torn surface, where they devoured their prey without waiting for it to perish.[1] The B1-series battle droid Mister Bones was modified by the young Temmin Wexley to have the cut of a rock-vulture's skull.[3]
Behind the scenes
Rock-vultures were introduced in the new Star Wars canon in the 2015 reference book Star Wars: Absolutely Everything You Need to Know.[1] In the Star Wars Legends continuity, they were originally mentioned in Matthew Stover's 2005 novelization of the prequel trilogy film Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith.[4]
