- "Bubblewine? You know I'm only fifteen, right?"
"This is for the adult celebration. For you, we've requested a ribbonfruit smoothie. Sound good?"
"Yeah, actually." - ―Avon Starros and Leox Gyasi
A ribbonfruit smoothie was a type of smoothie made with ribbonfruit that was potable by humans. During the High Republic Era, they were served at an eatery ran by Wookiees on[1] the Mid Rim[2] planet Kashyyyk.[1] In 228 BBY,[3] the human scientist Avon Starros, Jedi Knight Reath Silas, and the crew of the Byne Guild starship Vessel—Affie Hollow and Leox Gyasi—met up in the eatery on their final night on Kashyyyk.[1]
After arriving at the eatery with a bottle of bubblewine from their ship, Hollow and Gyasi requested a ribbonfruit smoothie for Starros, as she was not old enough to have some of the wine. Once Starros and Silas arrived, the scientist spotted the bubblewine and asked if they knew she was not old enough to drink it, to which Gyasi told her it was for the adults. He then informed Starros they had ordered a ribbonfruit smoothie for her, asking if that was suitable. In response, the scientist stated it was.[1]
Behind the scenes
A ribbonfruit smoothie was mentioned in the 2025 young-adult novel The High Republic: Into the Light, written by Claudia Gray as part of the Star Wars: The High Republic multimedia project's[1] Phase III.[4]

- ↑ Star Wars: Timelines dates Starlight Beacon's destruction to 230 BBY. The implementation of the Guardian Protocols, which Star Wars: The High Republic Character Encyclopedia places in 229 BBY, took place one week after Starlight Beacon's fall according to The High Republic – Shadows of Starlight 1. As The High Republic Adventures (2023) 16, which features the Stormwall going down, takes place one year and a few months after the destruction of Starlight Beacon, it must be set in 228 BBY. The events of The High Republic: Tears of the Nameless also take place in 228 BBY per the reasoning here. As The High Republic: Into the Light states its events occur after the events of Tears of the Nameless and before the Stormwall goes down, they must also take place in that year.
