Some weeks after the Battle of Endor[1] in 4 ABY,[3] the New Republic's Alphabet Squadron engaged in a skirmish at Rentaxius VIII with an Imperial freighter the squadron attempted to capture. Alphabet Squadron initially surrounded the starship and Yrica Quell, Alphabet Leader, demanded the vessel's surrender. The freighter's captain complied with Quell but was then murdered by his own crew, being replaced by a new commanding officer. The new commander then had the starship open fire on the Alphabet Squadron. Alphabet Squadron pilots Chass na Chadic and Nath Tensent disabled the vessel thereafter, but the RZ-1 A-wing interceptor pilot Wyl Lark shot its oxygen generator by accident. The incident forced the squadron to evacuate the surviving crew and tow them away in escape pods.[1]
Behind the scenes
The skirmish appeared in the 2019 novel Alphabet Squadron, the first volume in Alexander Freed's Star Wars: Alphabet Squadron trilogy.[1]
